u can use your current 1ft tank to try out 1st if your budget is around rm300 (not enough for 2ft tank  )

refer to the post above, buy 1 by 1 to upgrade your current tank then u wont feel the pain.
replace your 11w tube, get soil and plant - RM100+-, low tech planted tank done 

haha.. change to a new 11w tube which can switch on 
get new light set only when u decide to upgrade to 2ft tank.

some1 selling rm280 in fb. i bought it rm160 1 mth ago. few days ago went to buy a 88g cartridge rm26 for spare. i guess it can stand for at least 6 mth for my 1ft tank

good lighting will cost u around rm100

I have 1.... but the brightness is just for moss grow not made for planted tank...

The calculation per watt but LED is different calculation...

For LED in planted tank you need CREE type the one I have is a SMD type the lighting is not very strong...

moss no need CREE 
i think CREE set will not be suit your budget
normal led set find weijie, around 100 but the effect on plant is more or less same as your 11w light tube 

CREE is suitable if you suddenly changed your mind to upgrade to high light plants.
in planted tank, we are all people with tangan gatal. i cant resist when there is mood to rescape. lol
however, CREE LED light has no ready made light casing in market. mostly i will try to DIY and test with calvin_ng, maybe middle of august.
will share the total cost and result after completed.
does current 11w light suits your tank?
although LED light has lower heat dissipated, but i dont think 11w light will affect much of your water temperature.

IMHO, LED light set does not emit full spectrum of light.
if you compare white florescent and white LED, color of plants with white florescent turns out to be more natural.
That is one of the reason why normally blue LED is added light set.
still, i would suggest to use back T5HO since it is much more easy to replace faulty parts and cheaper price.

Because people always think that LED save lots of electricity and generate much lesser heat.
they didnt notice that color temperature and light intensity penetration is important too.

i use plastic ruler to scratch the white thing.
