Well can't say that this lineup is unexpected.

Team for today:

Arsenal: Szczesny, Sagna, Vermaelen, Koscielny, Gibbs, Song, Rosicky, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Walcott, Gervinho, Van Persie.

Substitutes: Fabianski, Djourou, Miquel, Jenkinson, Ozyakup, Chamakh, Park.

Dangerous la wei.. concede means byebye already ..

People say its curtains if we concede one. But the thing is who is to say we cannot score 3 more base on our first half performance?

not sure if arsenal plays too good or milan is just piss poor :s
*
I'd say Milan have been piss poor. They are lacking a few key players and the lack of experience in some of their young replacements in high octane games like this is costing them.

Rosicky has been absolutely mind blowing in that first half. The Ox has been fantastic as well.

Gibbs positioning has been really poor and Gervinho seems to be out for a Sunday stroll.

It was a valiant effort. Lads gave everything and did us proud. Pity our game seemed to have gone together with Chamberlain's hamstring.

Problem is now at what cost did this performance come at. Will be tough against Newcastle. From the looks of it Ox is out of that match. Hopefully Theo can recover in time as it just looked like a case of dead leg on his part.

Gervinho was effing disappointing though.

A sign of more German players?

Mesut Ozil, Thomas Muller? Bastian Schweinsteiger? Ok I am day dreaming.  tongue.gif

Muller will be fantastic, imagine a front three of:

Podolski/Van Persie/Muller

I will jizz in my pants

We've ended Liverpool's top 4 hopes, ended Spurs's title dreams and its now time to put an end to Newcastle's Champions League aspirations.

Seems we are the major spoilers for a change this year and I love it.

I'm actually glad Chelsea got through. Don't think they are strong enough to take on the likes of Bayern, Real or Barca yet though. Anyway them going through could only benefit us IMO. The extra matches that they have could prove a distraction for them in the coming weeks paving the way for us to cement our top 4 position.

Good job to Di Matteo and credit to him so far though its amusing to see Chelsea fans already hailing him as the right man for the job already. The fickleness of footie fans.......

i expect he will not buy midfielder. We are congested in that area. If we offload diaby and denilson we stil OK.
*
I don't mind offloading Denilson but Diaby I believe if he can put his injury troubles behind him he will prove useful.

We looked better when he came on for Arteta against Liverpool and the minute he was substituted again we looked limp in midfield.

Sometimes it pays to have a little faith, imagine if we had offloaded Van Persie and Rosicky because of their injuries.

it is Arsene's decisions... we used to buy world class players during David Dein's era... wif his departure, AW is now bigger than the club i'd say... it is no surprise that he is the one who set up all these youth policy...
*
That I strongly disagree. Arsene transformed the players he bought into world class players. We hardly bought any who were already the finished article back in the day apart from perhaps Sol Campbell, Wiltord, Suker, springs to mind and more recent purchases. Henry, Edu, Ljungberg, Lauren, Toure, Vieira, Petit and the list goes on and on and on were all either 1) Struggling with injuries or 2) Not doing too well at their current clubs.

And just because a few players won a world cup or two or an international tournament before doesn't mean they are world class players i.e. Pires and Gilberto prior to joining Arsenal. No way in hell they could be considered world class at that time before they joined us.

Greece won the EUROS some time ago but hardly any of their players can be considered world class or amongst the best in Europe. How many players have we seen perform well on the international stage look useless when it comes to club matches.

I'd pick a player who plays well consistently in the league rather than one that only performs in international tournaments any day.

Not sure whether Dalglish's talking about us or not, but assuming that he is this sounds like an absurd statement. Yes, Liverpool won the Carling Cup (oh... better than 7 years without a trophy rolleyes.gif) but in the past few seasons they have been somewhat mismanaged. With the amount of talented players and the astronomical money spent, you'd expect them to perform better. Newcastle did a good job this season, and like it or not, T'ham has done relatively well in the past few.

And if "direct football" means that Liverpool's reverting to one-route football ala Stoke, Allardyce's Bolton, and Blackburn then it's a sad day for the Merseyside team. They can play good technical football, in fact they pummelled us before we snatched victory at the very end recently. Dalglish has a lot to do, first up is to stop the owners from spending crazy money on players which aren't exactly useful -- Carroll and Downing being prime examples.
*
That is ridiculous from Dalglish if he is referring to us. I will not trade a Champions League spot for their Carling Cup or FA Cup or both if they win it any time of the day.

Ultimately its Champions League football that attracts the biggest of names, not the Carling Cup or the FA Cup. And if we can sustain the ability to attract the biggest of names, even if we don't win any cup this year, the trophies will eventually come sooner rather than later.

Gibbs wont be playing CC and FA games la. He's ahead of Santos when fit and rightly so...and btw suddenly we're linked with M'vila again. Gosh we have toooooooooo many midfielders! Coquelin and Frimpong non-existent ka?
*
Despite our wins Gibbs has been very very poor positionally at times and better teams would have punished us. Santos on the other hand tends to have lapses in focus and concentration.

Its a bit subjective this one. But when fit I would still prefer Santos IMO.

Not too impressed from what I've seen. I won't be surprised if they get battered by Barca.

If on a free I won't mind Flamini back IMO. I dread the day Song gets sidelined through injury. We have no one capable of filling in at the moment if that happens.

Frimpong is still too raw and Diaby's fitness is questionable.

And what are the fans' excuse? Some people were talking about 3 points against QPR already and 2nd spot before the ball was even kicked. As much as the players should be ashamed of the so called "effort" they put in today some of the fans here deserve to be shot as well.

Stop blaming Ramsey la everyone was poor today. And its not his fault Arsene chose to play him out of position.
