QUOTE(WhySoSerious12 @ Mar 7 2012, 10:59 AM) seriously nvr thought off ARS can score more than 2 goal or at least we concede 1 goal. IMO, RVP deserves to be given salary 160,000 pound salary for the next contract. We know what ARS lack off and AW knows but the problem is monopoly player WAGES by MAN C + Chelsea. We have the funds to buy player but not high wages if we bid on hazard then the wage offer should be below 60 or 70 but then MAN city will offer 120 or more == we can only focus on players like from less favorable team like koscienly |

QUOTE(Angel of Deth @ Mar 9 2012, 11:08 AM) If you follow Arseblog or whatever equivalent site, there are various report about RVP being a true leader off the pitch, not just on field and dressing room. He and his wife always make gathering, spend time with team-mates, karaoke, bowling whatever family oriented activities. Not only with the boys, but with their wives, family and GFs too. No one in the locker room feel they're under somebody else or alienated. +1Whenever he scores, he always acknowledge his team-mate during post match interview, like Walcott who provided him plenty of assists. Last week he kiss Song's boot after scored the magnificent volley. It's simply to portrayed to whoever called Arsenal a One Man Team, that he couldn't do everything by his own. He give credit to his provider, try to make media and every people in the world know what he feel about it. He's not fierce as Vieira but certainly not inferior to Vieira in term of leadership. He's better captain than Henry and Fabregas, that's for sure. took the words right out of my mouth. Can't agree moar. Its clearly seen from off-pitch interviews and training sessions, and even at dinner gala that RVP is always acting as a leader for his teammates. In previous seasons, I dare not say that he is world class footballer regardless that he has the talent, but as he matures, I dare to say that Robin Van Persie is indeed a world class professional footballer due to his outstanding contributions to his club, his country, his family, his manager, his fans as well as his peers. My utmost respect to RVP. |

Wow, judging from Theo's goal, he really got the confidence to score that tight shot even though he has an option to pass it to RVP. Oh man, I'm so happy every Arsenal players oozes of confidence. First touch was really amazing, and his shot was well-placed rather than a wild blast.

When it comes to dribbling, nothing beats Thierry Henry. He incorporates speed and precision in every touch. Its true dribblers hard to survive in bpl. Remember how Arshavin was like when he came to Arsenal? Dribbling like nobody business.

QUOTE(sakaito @ Mar 26 2012, 01:19 AM) Yep The confidence....gotta love it. Whereas previously, they're just passing around the ball like headless chickens. Also, they're scoring for fun. Notice that all our defenders have scored....gibbs, sagna, koschielny, vermaelen. Except for djourou and per of course. I'm still waiting for Song to score though. He's been amazing as a creative holding midfield....hahaha! Its like Cesc, but with better defending abilities. Then ppl start hacking him down n push him off the ball. Its easy to defend dribblers... Just make sure u push them on first touch/step n throw them off balance. I love the way the team is setup now. More direct and pacey. |

QUOTE(sigheart @ Mar 27 2012, 09:23 PM) Despite our wins Gibbs has been very very poor positionally at times and better teams would have punished us. Santos on the other hand tends to have lapses in focus and concentration. I'm split between both, but leaning more towards Santos. He seems more robust than Gibbs and has this rawness in him that looks intimidating to opponents. Gibbs is well-disciplined and has lots of potential. Seeing some likeness to Ashley Cole and Glichy in terms of speed and defending. Just my one cent thoughts. Its a bit subjective this one. But when fit I would still prefer Santos IMO. |

Regarding Flamini. I don't see anything bad to bringing him back to the Emirates. As the others are pointing, he is a decent backup to the MF should Song be on a break. I honestly don't know how his fitness level or his touch is these days, but I'll always remember his fighting, rough spirit. Remember the time Nani played tiki-taka with Arsenal and Flamini came in to stop him dead in his track. That was awesome.
Although the last I heard he broke someone's leg with a nasty tackle. Scary if you think about it, but these kind of defenders can either stop top teams attacking us or causing yellow/red cards to be shown against us. Well, I for one are willing to give him the benefit of the doubt. |

Mother of god...
QUOTE Manchester City ready to launch sensational bid to sign Cristiano Ronaldo from Real Madrid this summer Abu Dhabi powerbrokers willing to match £80 million world-record transfer fee and sanction salary of between £400,000-a-week and £500,000-a-week to land Portuguese icon Manchester City are ready to deliver a sensational package to sign Cristiano Ronaldo from Real Madrid this summer, Goal.com can reveal. The Premier League club are understood to be willing to match the world-record transfer fee of £80 million (€96m) that Real paid Manchester United for Ronaldo in 2009, and wages of between £400,000-a-week (€478,000) and £500,000-a-week (€598,000) to land the Portuguese icon. Sources in both Manchester and Spain have told Goal.com that there has been contact between intermediaries in recent weeks to gauge the player’s interest in returning to Manchester and the early indications from the 27-year-old's camp is that he could be open to a transfer that would send shockwaves through football. Ronaldo's agent Jorge Mendes has become increasingly close to senior City officials over the past year. It is understood that Abu Dhabi go-betweens floated the idea to Ronaldo last summer but the feedback from the player was that it was not the right time. "The signs now from the Ronaldo camp are surprisingly more positive," a source close to the situation told Goal.com. "The contact has taken place in the last few weeks and there is serious chatter in the corridors at the Etihad, akin to when City tried to sign Kaka from AC Milan a few years back." Owner Sheikh Mansour, advised by the club’s senior hierarchy in Abu Dhabi, is a huge admirer of Ronaldo and has tremendous respect for Real Madrid as a footballing institution. Although City strongly refuted on Friday that the club have made any move to sign the forward, it is understood that the billionaire owner is ready to sanction the monies if there is a deal to be done. “City want a marquee signing this summer to confirm their emergence as serious players among football’s elite,” the source added. “Ideally, they would do so from a position of strength as Premier League champions but whatever happens in the title race they want to send out a statement of intent. “Ronaldo is the one they have wanted for a long time. They know they will not get Lionel Messi.” Three years on from the failed attempt to sign Kaka from AC Milan in a world record €108m deal (worth £90m at current exchange rates), the Sheikh’s advisers are confident that the club’s growth on and off the pitch will enable them to hold firm in their dealings with the nine-time European champions. City’s powerbrokers are also confident that the staggering sums required to entice Ronaldo to Etihad Stadium would not contravene Uefa’s financial fair play regulations, which the club are fully-committed to satisfying. Sheikh Mansour would off-set the cost of signing Ronaldo and at least one other marquee summer signing – with Napoli’s Edinson Cavani the leading centre-forward target - by sanctioning a summer clear-out of big earners who are not central to manager Roberto Mancini’s long-term plans. The club will listen to offers for Carlos Tevez, who earns £198,000-a-week, Edin Dzeko, who gets £130,000-a-week, Nigel De Jong, who is on £85,000-a-week. On-loan trio Emmanuel Adebayor (£170,000-a-week), Wayne Bridge and Roque Santa Cruz (who both earn £90,000-a-week) can also leave. City are likely to encounter difficulties in shifting them from the wage bill but if they do so it would free up nearly £800,000-a-week, equivalent to an eye-watering £38m per annum, around a quarter of the Premier League record £174m salary bill revealed in the club’s 2010-11 financial accounts. Ronaldo’s six-year Real contract, which runs until 2015, was initially worth £250,000-a-week (€300,000) but has built-in incremental rises which will swell the figure to around £400,000-a-week in the final year of the deal. Such is the Portuguese’s vast marketing potential, built around the CR7 brand, City are confident they would be able to recoup much of their outlay through shirt sales, merchandise tie-ups and other commercial spin-offs. The parameters of the deal would be quite similar to the offer made to Kaka in 2009, with City believed to be prepared to fund a series of soccer schools in Ronaldo’s name in a bid to demonstrate their commitment to the player and push his brand. Source Unbelievable. |

We're playing an open game right now. Both teams keep attacking and counter attack. Fuhh....hoping for a goal and then we'll perhaps see some stable play from the men.

I got a feeling this game going to get physical. Ref is being very lenient with physical contacts all over the pitch.
