Wasn't really much of an experience, but this seem like rain water were absorbed by the outer wall and the water flowed through the wall and appear at the ground floor ceiling.

Thank for the reply... Should not be rain water...because this wall is inside the house whereby no outer wall.... Called the management and see any outcome...

The picture is showing the roof area. And i stay at condo.

check if any internal consealled water pipes, check if the wall near toilet, it could be toilet fr upper floor, check upper floor what they put up there, building a mini fish pond or what. you never know.

i have seen ppl use thier balcony and use it as a fish pond! The pressure of water forced the water to the floor concrete.

what is below of the leaking area? is that Kitchen zink? any tap?
Because Kitchen area normally should have piping need the wall area and link to other part of the wall.
You could imaging yourself as your unit design are similar to the unit above yours and what the possiable cause...

Ok, tonight i go up and check what they are doing there...

If there is hidden tap or pipe, only the manament can tell... hmm.gif

Just checked. they saidis not water leaking from main pipe... Because if it is, the condition would be even worst.

Unit above renovated, and create some extra pipe for washing machine and sink...So, the contractor said, 80% is leaking there - because the water leaking is not significant increase when raining day.

The place where washing machine located compare to the leaking part is consider not nearby... sad.gif wondering how true it is. Let see how is going on this thursday...

btw, we agree it s 50-50, even it is 100% the unit above's false.

Mostly cause by piping leakage inside the wall. Cure it fast before spreading throughout the whole wall.

It is getting serious now. We hope it is not the main pipe.

i can not see any water mark on their wall...

Actually the vendor said the same things - It will be main pipe if the water drop every few seconds. In fact, i can not see many water dropping out but definitely can see some water coming out from wall day by day. I will swap it when i go back home.

We already ask not to use the drain hole but the tenant just ignore me... so tired.

Yes, another possibilities is the pipe hiding inside the floor. The vendor never check the bathroom... will ask them really check it...

Poor thing,

It could be you pipe but wonder why would anyone connect pipe from top into the unit?

To check if the leak if from main pipe is easy. Turn off all tap and make sure no one flush the toilet. Go to the meter see if the meter run. Watch over 5 minutes or so. Take a puff if you smoke.

There is a possiblity it comes from bathroom. In the bathroom you cannot see water mark on the bathroom wall because it is tiled but you can see on the other side of the wall and if the other side is outside then sooner or later fungus will grow. It could also be the bathroom floor tiled not properly waterproof and is very common but should show water mark on your ceiling toillet if not the nearby room ceiling, not ceiling far away from the bathroom. This is because the bathroom floor are waterproof and the water cannot come down directly to your ceiling toilet and flow to the nearby room ceiling that is not waterproof.

Aiya, get a good plumber la, contractor cannot pakai one! only know how to make money out of people misery. Plumber is the one who do the job, rectify problem, contractor is the one who talk other do job and another pay and he counts money. A good plumber with experience can tell as they see these things so often and this is their rice bowl.
*
For me, the problem is remain unsolve now. Few plumbers come in and can not rectify where is the root cause. I checked the meter for 5 mins, not moving. However, some say if the leaking so small (the elbow joint) then possible the meter cant show.

It is not near the bathroom but near to kicthen. One of the plumber had do touch up on the drain hole. Now, after one month, i still can see water coming out - no improvement. Yes, the water is not so many, but it will get worst one day and spray until to floor.

Plumber say could be some water keeping inside for long time and now only surface. No clue and they do not want to take the job, keep asking me to wait and see. I believe they cant find the problem and do not want to hack the whole floor for us...

keep dealing with the tenant and owner for upper unit is damn tire. really fedup on condo.. I just bought it last year sad.gif

I aggree that it is difficult to identify because kitchen above unit is renovated, we cannot see the drain hole directly. And actually no water mark around the drain hole at my unit.

The water come out 24x7 including night time - while no one is actually using the drain hole. Do not know whether the exterior wall (even we are not the top) can cause the leaking or not... so headache.
