What is your budget? What you want to do? What is your ideal outcome?
ID, can help you spend lots of money, can also give you idea where to save money. Some have their team of people. Some just design for you, give you 3D drawing.
If your renovation is big, and no time to look after, the ID can help of course all this come with $$$. Or get a project / site supervisor.

QUOTE(工藤新一 @ Mar 6 2012, 08:13 PM) its better that you find interior designer that work as contractor itself, so u can save alot. my house is under renovation now, the ID is quite good, but they do thing very very slow...so would not recommend... 16xx SQFT from DEC till now not yet done...sien Ok what. Year end got many holidays, and CNY was on Jan. Mine start April, end Dec. Self manage.

QUOTE(peterjoo78 @ Mar 6 2012, 09:42 PM) Hi, why no one is answering my question? I wanna know how they charge before I engage any interior designer, if it's out of my budget I might as well do it myself. I don't think you have direct answer. Some charge you per design so they give you design, and you go find your own contractor. Some is per project covering A to Z, help you managed, change design if situation change. Most of these people will have his/her own contacts of contractors you have the option not to use them. Just get few ID, ask them how they charge. Some will give you full proposal I have one, super nice, price also super nice.

Student, they don't even know if what they design are practical, or even the material use are available in Malaysia.
