Why are they protesting against the SUKE? Is it bcos the highway will cause dust to come more frequently into their houses?

- Alot of Taman involved are old Tamans, people has been staying for 20-30 years and their houses are forcibly acquired, adjusting to new life is never easy, especially for older folks

- Highway cut through in front of mountain, serenity of the area will no longer be the same with this expressway

- Will the compensation for the houses be enough for new houses?

- Houses are more than just houses, they are memories and life and routine revolved around, friends and family, all these will be gone even you get a nice big house in a new area

- New highway to reduce congestion at MRR2, this is like treating the disease by treating only the symptom and not the source, how many highways do the gov want to build, public transportation is not improved, then there will forever be more cars on the roads.

- Improve public transportation - gov foot the cost (they treat rakyat money as their own), build highway, gov untung through cronies, protect 'potong' in the meantime, hence the gov will always have the tendency to grant new highway concessions instead of improving public transportation, the rakyat must fight for what is right

- Highway is not cheap you know, entire stretch of highway will consist of three tolls

+1 Totally agree. But no one can fight corporatism or government. No protest will win. We saw that many times before, eventually the highway is built.

Just accept life changes and move 0n

Government will win in anything they want to do. People have no say and only think that they have the so called 'Rights'.

Rights is a western concept that is misleading. We never had so called rights - only privilege if we are lucky to be given such.

You make it seem like we are in a communist country already.

If you are subscribing to 'no rights', might as well do away with elections, in fact re-instating with feudal laws is the way to go.
Mind you, no rights to the very land you own too.

Do you know what is the check and balance with our existing government? the only thing left is people's voice.
the whole jurisdiction, police force, anti corruption agency, mof, agencies that are suppose to be safeguarding our country is already tainted.
where will our country go then if everyone thinks like you.

If you act like a turtle hiding in a shell in every matter and subscribe to 'government will win anything' notion, so be it, but most of us prefer to
have a say in our destiny.

the people who protest, are the same one that will complain about traffic etc. but , very happy when a new highway away from their house is built.
I for one , agree with SUKE, eventhough my housing area will be moderately affected

and the talk about improving public transportation to reduce jam ... deserves to be in a disney cartoon. it will not happen in malaysia in a foreseeable future.

I actually support the construction of this highway. Can u imagine how bad traffic jams are within these areas? People who complain here are being selfish while government is doing it for the other majority.

And guess what, I left my house 40 mins ago and I'm still within the Taman area. This is how bad the traffic are.

bullshit. all highways have gone through their own protest. which highway that was proposed before that was not protested? no, not one.

building atop mrr2 is a stupid thing to even propose/mentioned. having another highway on top of another highway? then it will be restricted to the same entry and exit points which will make the existing even more super jam. please have a brain before spewing stupid ideas.

go go go for SUKE. build her up asap and go through all those needed spots!

Yes i am stupid. If that make u happy. I pass by alam damai and go thru tmn lenseng almost everyday. There is only 4 lanes big. They propose 6 lanes above the road. What a smart move. If You read nicely, im trying to said plan an alternative road. I lazy to name all the countries but there is highway above the highway. Somemore this suke is most likely to connect the Duke.

Elevated highway on the existing road is inevitably, furthermore if build a highway on top of another highway could be a smarter move coz the objection voice will be minimized, all highways proposal will sure jeopardize minority parties's interest to cater for the benefits of the public.
SUKE design is indeed a bit odd passing through so many housing areas, the gomen has already planned the Outer Ring Road which I think is a better plan.

the reason it must be alternate path and not follow through the entire of mrr2 is because it attempts to distribute and alleviate the burden by servicing other points of entry/exits that the existing users of mrr2 am intending to go thus reducing the traffic on the current mrr2.

building on the same freaking path throughout the entire mrr2 path just places further burden on the already existing exit/entry points there.

there may be intertwining parallel paths for a new highway in any new designs of highways but it is never advisable to build another on top of another throughout the entire path. that's just plain stupid.

As long the allowable distance between the houses and highway. I don see any problem for passing through many houses areas. As long the exits to the highway are convenient to everyone.

bullshit. all highways have gone through their own protest. which highway that was proposed before that was not protested? no, not one.

building atop mrr2 is a stupid thing to even propose/mentioned. having another highway on top of another highway? then it will be restricted to the same entry and exit points which will make the existing even more super jam. please have a brain before spewing stupid ideas.

go go go for SUKE. build her up asap and go through all those needed spots!
*
i also support the SUKE...at least i am affected in the jam and built another alternative will make feel a bit less tension....

but, i not staying in the affected area and so does many many others......

property price appreciate....all laughing to the bank....now they kena....all protest......yea yea...built a MRT or LRT right to their Taman and the next day they all go to sell their house at 30% higher....they all laugh.....

Life is fair....sometimes, you win, sometimes you lose.....and the highway if not meant for the good of the majority, then, we will oppose by all means.....

i support this highway to be built to ease the traffic. modern city cannot avoid the development and changes. For public transport to be improve tip top, it will be long process from now. minority problem cause majority suffer?

During the recent iproperty show at KLCC, I&P promoted this SUKE highway as another access to Alam Damai, Cheras township.

I wonder how IJM feels about this SUKE highway since the residents at its project, Bukit Mandarina are against this highway. Its luxury condo project Altitude 236 which is being built just next to the highway may be affected in terms of sales.

For far too long, people living in the vicinity of Taman Len Seng, Bukit Cheras and the many Tamans in that area have been subject to traffic jams dude to limited access routes.

A couple of years back, two new access routes were opened which eased the traffic inflow and outflow at these residential areas.

With the SUKE coming in, it's going to be back to square one. who in their right mind would be willing to give up their quality of live?
