If you know the disti price of wine before it gets to the retailer, my guess is most people will stop buying from retailers. The markup is ridiculous.

I just took a case of Reymos Sparkling White from my supplier the other day (6 bottles) cos my other half loves sparkling white. Each bottle is only around RM 32... I've seen the same exact same bottle selling for 90~120 in retail shops.. Even online, it's being sold for 70+..

Find a wine that you like, and start getting to know the disti that carries it. It helps to buy in cases as you can negotiate for better pricing. My distributor says wines here are expensive partly because of tax, and the other main contributor is retailer markup.
