hi all

guys , in my company they bought a new internet service which is 3mb/s download

now they are trying to make this service over wifi

so they bought this aztech router to convert from LAN to WIFI

but despite the WIFI signal is 100% , but the internet speed is so slow

and the distance between the router and other computers is less than 1-2 meters

any idea ????????

shall i return the router back and get a new one ??

or ????????????

you have a few things to check - first is the wifi client - that is the laptop or the desktop that has the usb wifi dongle.

Check the settings on the client side - check things like if the channel number is correct, if you have set the speed to? (cos just because the router says it can go up to xxx speed, you would need to set it in the client that the client is set to use that protocol and speed settings)

So tweak you client first. One way to confirm that it is the client wifi settings and not the router is to use cable from the router to client first - check the download speed. Then disconnect the cable connection and use the wifi connection - compare. The difference is proof that its the client wifi settings.

Then come back and report

Also try moving away from the router especially if it's a very powerful one. Too high signals also no good.

But I think probably change router, I recommend WR841ND. Cheap cheap.
