From my experience, yes. Though they don't have the row providing info about available credit limit.

However, available credit limit can be calculated by: Total credit limit - (minus) outstanding balance

I think what @David83 concern is the inaccuracy of your information. We have a lot of "easily" confused readers here and we need to be careful of how the information is stated. It has to be factual ... period. Too many came in here with assumptions, heresy, etc - not factual.

Thanks for your clarifications and appreciate for the clarity and accuracy to kept spot on - it can be disastrous to state something that is not clearly there and can only be obtained "indirectly." Please bear in mind of this the next time you post.

should be about 8k

Please avoid giving hypothetical values of what a CL should be unless you are the bank itself and have the power to grant the CL to whoever that is asking. Readers here will be too quick to go out and demand the number from the bank not realizing CL value are not solely determined by income factor alone. And different banks have different risk management practice (which changes every now and then) which impacts that CL value.

Imagine the impact if the person who ask goes ahead and seek 8K as CL and did not get the CL, writer edge85 or jasontiong - are you willing to assume responsibility for your action / answers if the person takes legal action ? What if the bank itself sues ? And are you willing and prepared to provide compensation for providing misleading financial information ?

Think about this before providing such answers like the above. This is the uniqueness of this thread. smile.gif

If I use Maybank2kad AMEX to pay when I go to Bali, will I kena charge extra? Is it better to pay by cash or use cc when go Bali?
*
If you use credit card or charge card overseas, you are liable for overseas transaction fees imposed by the bank. Obviously you did not read and took the easy liberty to just ask to get answers with no effort (Sigh) - we have many times stated AMEX is the most expensive. By stating what you said - would using your card in Singapore / Thailand / Japan / US / China / Sudan be charged extra ? Would a foreigner using their credit card in Malaysia be charged extra ?

The answer is NO!
Merchants do not have the right to charge extra when users use credit cards - these charges are always "imposed" because customers consented to the extra fees and allowing merchants to charge you extra. The extra fees are not allowed by the rules set by Mastercard and VISA International.

To the question of you want to use cash or cc - are you comfortable carry tons of cash around in Bali or would you prefer to carry a piece of plastic ?
Converting MYR to any foreign currency also attracts "exchange fees / exchange loss" at the money changer - have you thought of that ?

As long as it is not posted in your statement, you don't need to pay for it.  smile.gif

Sometimes petrol station can be as late as 3-5 weeks. I encountered this one time several years ago. Very rare though. Mostly will post on next 1-2 working day. Very seldom >2 days.

There is one time (even longer than several years ago), I have a petrol transaction that is not posted  rolleyes.gif  Anyway, the card is already cancelled now  cool2.gif

Don't be too happy folks ...
I've had transactions only appeared after 3 months. 3-5 weeks is not a big deal.

But such situation (permanent missing transaction) rarely happens. Been using cc for a long time and it only happens to me less than 5 times in my lifetime.

Update : Just had 2 more transactions which was missing and it took 7 months to appear! (It reappeared on an already cancelled card for 3 months) Don't be too happy just yet folks!

Hi, I am asking on behalf of my friend. Can a person with gross salary around RM4k having RM80k fixed deposits (RM10k ea) in other bank apply for Maybank 2 Platinum?

Thank you in advance.
*
Read again folks. The guy have FD in other banks but want to get a Maybank 2 Platinum.
Even if can ... TS need to pledge full FD amount to Maybank before the bank to consider his request. Otherwise evaluation fall back to income as the prerequisite.
RM4K would not qualify .. sorry.

Boonykun ... please refrain yourself. I've observe inappropriate language use over the last few post and a few even quoted it. I've mentioned in my MOD post that I have no tolerance to such language. The swipe / transaction control at the bank originates back from the days pre chip based cards where petrol pump frauds were the rage. (Myself also a victim) Losses per bank per month were in the range of RM500K-RM1 million per month and since then cc issuers have such policies in place to protect them and also the cardholders.

If you had been a victim of such rampage before ... you'll thank the bank for imposing this control.
So anyone want to kiasu about petrol contest, etc - please remind yourself of this limit control by the bank.

i must be having a sky-high dream here. lolx!

only expecting effectiveness a few percent or less than 1%. especially for those staff browsing lyn/fb/others with bb/i-phone/galaxy/others during working hour. pay attention and focus on their works, just a little bit awareness. everyone plays his/her role either in cc/it/telephone center in the bank.
You need to live in realities. Even though you expect efficiency demonstrated in other parts of the world to be emulated here, you got to remember that in those countries they don't tolerate surfing (non-business activities) at work - not even 1% is tolerated. Efficiency buds when competition is rife (among other elements required) and other factors come to play to force efficiency.

I am going to korea next week, may I know what is the transaction fees if I use maybankard 2 there?
*
Just to add what my bro mentioned. You can use your credit card just about almost everything in Korea. Some places need cash though, especially the street vendors. They don't practice adding "fees" on top on your existing purchase.

Enjoy your trip! wub.gif

Last time, I did pay a visit to the nearest branch to get my MBB2 AMEX/Visa  linked to M2U. It wasn't automatically linked even though I have other MBB CC with M2U.

On top of that, I did call to CS to ask if the linking procedures can be performed from phone. The CS said that it's not possible and requested to pay a visit to the nearest branch with my ATM card as well.

I second this statement. Same experience for myself as well.
No issue ... I appreciate the security and the hassle should not be a factor if security is in mind.

May I know if Maybankard 2 ( AMEX and VISA) : if I only keep these 2 cards, are they well recognised all over the world or is it better to have cards from a reputable foreign bank like HSBC or Citibank?

Did you attempt to search for the answer to your question ?

Finally get to upgrade my card to platinum. But the CL is still tiny, about 2x of my current salary, last time was only same as my salary, some more they don't entertain credit limit increase.
*
You were chasing a card upgrade and that's exactly what you get.
2x vs 1x of your salary is not a CL upgrade ? What are your expectations the bank should give you ?

Young man ... CL is not real money. Just credit given by the bank to spend. Not a big deal.
