Been there done that and i did get the 5% weekend cash back + 5x TP    rclxms.gif

Payment through Paypal must be done at 2pm or after 2pm on Saturday (Malaysia) or else the transaction will be recorded as a payment made on Friday. This is because it follow Paypal's USA HQ time. During the months when daylight saving time is observed, you can do it at 1pm or after 1pm on Saturday (Malaysia).

Thanks.

I did reserve post#3 so matters relating to Pay Pal shall be posted and updated there.

Petronas card: weekday (5x, about 2.5%), weekend (8x, about 4%).

vs

Maybank amex: weekday (5x, about 2.5%), weekend (5x + 5% cashback, about 7.5%)
*
To add:

At most Petronas stations AMEX = 0% cash back since it is not accepted

At non-Petronas stations, MBB Petronas = 0% "cash back"

Actually, the MBB Petronas card is pretty good if one pumps more than RM1K with Petronas and travel on the highways. Also gets 8X TP for groceries on weekends.

your term "groceries on weekends" limited to petronas stations only or also at tesco, giant etc??
*
Good question, I suppose it will be based on the merchant's code (like OCBC, Citibank Cash Back Plat and UOB One Card). By the way, that's not "my term" but what MBB advertise.

QUOTE(darylyeoh0707 @ May 16 2012, 10:58 PM)
guys...any mbb agent here who can help me to apply maybank2cards?
*
Just go to MBB branch or Maybankard Centre or email to MBB application form. Either you qualify or don't, agents don't process your application. Also, you willing to give a stranger here from LYN your personal info shakehead.gif

Just bought my New IPad 32Gb wifi for only RM999 (normal price RM1,799) at Harvey Norman MV.

Learn this method from GenX, so credit goes to him for sharing info.
*
Glad to know you read my articles and give me credit for it smile.gif

I also bought a new iPaq last weekend at Harvey Norman for RM999 for my youngest daughter using my wife MBB 2 AMEX to earn RM50 cash back smile.gif But I bought the 16GB WiFi only model. Now there are 4 iPads in my house but I personally carry a Samsung 7" Tab wherever I go.

QUOTE(echoesian @ May 18 2012, 12:10 AM)
How many treatpoints for RM1? Normally is 200 points = RM1 right?
*
For AMEX AMEX, 200 Membership Reward points = RM1 cash back (credited into account).

For Maybankard 2 Cards, we can only redeem for cash vouchers.

If you shop at Parkson, better still, 9300 Treats Points = RM50 voucher. And if you buy cosmetic during Parkson member's day, use the RM50 cash voucher to pay and can earn another RM10 voucher (yellow color) for every RM150 spent on cosmetic. So effectively we are getting more than 2.5% returns with the cash vouchers based on Treats Points redemption. Click below link to read my article:

just wanted to ask since i got a mbb2card now.. (and i kinda forgot to ask the CS about it when activating my card b4)
since the amex card is basically a charge card, do i have to pay in full amount according to the charges stated in the statement due date? or will it be the same as normal visa/mastercard (minimum payment allowed)
since i was under the illusion of 2 cards,1 statement...does it share same characteristics also for payment then? hmm.gif
*
The MBB2 AMEX is a Credit Card. But it is good that you treat it as a Charge Card and pay in full biggrin.gif

when was this? Nowadays, it is against BNM ruling for card issuer to increase CL without the cardholder consent.

Any of you know if we can do 0% instalment using AMEX at SenQ ? If i'm not mistaken, i think Gen-X said that it is possible at Harvey Norman but how about SenQ ? I'm thinking of buying the new iPad on 1st July (Sunday), so i can get 5% + 5xTP and do 0% instalment at the same time    biggrin.gif
*
here is the latest list
http://www.americanexpress.com.my/amx_info...-OffersServices

In addition to HN, the other places with Ezy Pay with AMEX are Courts Mammoth, HSL, EpiCentre, Fotokem, Machines.

Bummer    sad.gif
I was in KL for 1 night last weekend and went to Harvey Norman in Pavillion. I asked them about the 0% instalment for the new iPad but i was told that if i want to pay by instalment, i need to buy the cover case, buy another 2-year extra warranty blah blah blah...    shakehead.gif    I know that Apple just came out with a new iPad case that can fit the new iPad properly and i'll be going to Singapore two weeks later. It is cheaper there. That's why i don't want to buy the new iPad cover case here.

Anyway, i also dropped by at Machines KLCC and i was informed that they will charge me a one-time 3% extra if i want to do instalment    shakehead.gif    The Apple store in Pavillion is an EpiCentre outlet but i was in a rush then. So i didn't go in.
*
Wah, like that better inform AMEX they are misleading us.

I have yet to do installment plan at Harvey Norman with AMEX but the cashier always ask me 1 swipe or installment before I pay for my purchases. As for the extra warranty, they cannot force us. Try another outlet. If I do drop my HN again, I'll ask too.

From the website above, I saw AMEX can do 0% EPP with Digi. I plan to get digi smartplan + S3. Can it really be done?

If I go apply for that EPP on weekends, do I entitle for 5% cashback or there is no cashback for AMEX EPP plan?
*
You can try, but I got a strong feeling they will tell you the AMEX terminal down.

Why don't you call AMEX and ask and then when at DigI they refuse to let you do the installment, you call AMEX on the spot and let the CS speak to the DiGi salesperson and see how it goes sweat.gif

Why is AMEX so hard to be available by those shop?

I just get my Digi EPP plan at a digi dealer shop. Ask about AMEX and he said don't have terminal to swipe AMEX.

In my work place, Kuching, Sarawak, it is really hard to find the place that accept AMEX.
*
most dealers don't accept AMEX. but DiGi, Maxis and Celcom Centres do have AMEX Terminals.

Looks like MBB realized they are losing money every time TNB bill you previously, haha.

Anyway, got link to the above limit? Just wondering if it only applies to TNB bills or more.

QUOTE(MilesAndMore @ Jun 28 2012, 04:18 PM)
I went to SenQ this morning and I was going to buy the new 32GB iPad WiFi only model. I enquired about this Maybank 0% EzyPay Instalment but guess what, i was told that i have to pay RM20 (Apple license fee) + RM25 (one time processing fee for paying by instalment) for 12-month 0% instalment. For 24-month 0% instalment, i have to pay RM20 (Apple license fee) + RM65 (one time processing fee for paying by instalment)    doh.gif

Of course i wasn't willing to pay for the absurd fees. So i asked the staff if they accept AMEX and told him that i wanted to pay at one-go with my AMEX. But guess what, i was told that i have to buy at least two iPad accessories or they are not selling me the iPad    vmad.gif    The only Apple Premium Reseller Store in KK is Technocrats and they are using the same business tactic too. The only difference is that instead of forcing their potential customer to buy two iPad accessories like SenQ, one can choose to buy only one.

So, if we still have to pay this stupid processing fee for credit card instalment, it is not really a 0% instalment anymore. Anyway, i walked away at the end. So there goes my plan to buy an iPad    sad.gif
*
Look at the bright side, you saved RM1499 and the cheaper Google Nexus 7 coming out next month, haha smile.gif

I saved RM1,799 actually because that's the price for WiFi 32GB new iPad model    biggrin.gif     I really want the new iPad, but i don't like their business tactic. I think i'm going to call their main office tomorrow   mad.gif

By the way, i went to DiGi yesterday. I was going to buy the new Samsung Galaxy SIII but at the end, i walked out empty handed too. All this while i thought they offer the same package like iPhone 4S. But i realized yesterday the RM48 monthly commitment fee is only for mobile data plan which i thought was seriously overpriced    :sweat
*
Yah, after I posted I realised that the 32GB cost more.

As for DiGi, can you use AMEX for installment plan? The iPhone 1GB data with SMS and calls whereas the RM48 3GB data only and both unlimited data except that the speed reduces after you hit the quota. However, if you are willing to get the S III from a dealer, you can actually sign up for iPhone package (without phone) and use it for the S III smile.gif My daughter uses Samsung W (she lost her iPhone last year) with DiGi iPhone plan (previous contract ended and now stand alone plan). Look like the person up there is preventing you from getting a new tablet or SIII, must be a blessing in disguise hahaha.

**Edited**
After checking DiGi website, it seems nowadays must get iPhone to have iDiGi plan. And also mistaken the RM48 Smart Plan for the RM68 plan doh.gif

I would like to know can I apply only 1 supplementary card (eg Amex) only for this Maybankard 2 Gold And Platinum Cards?

but look like I have to get 2 cards for supplementary holder
here

how about the service tax?  I know principal card , in one sign up, one service tax, and one statement. How about supplementary card/s? Look like RM25 each that mean supplementary cards have to pay RM50  annually  ..am I right? Anyone here can confirm this? TQ rclxub.gif

here

Yes, supp card are issued both AMEX plus Visa or MC. You cannot elect to have the AMEX only.

And also yes, the total GST for supp cards is RM50.

Bro, He really is preventing me from buying a new tablet. I went to Maxis Centre this morning. Made up my mind to buy the new iPad bundled with 2GB 3G package last Friday evening. Done the calculations + with the new OCBC up to 10% extra rebate promotion, the savings is a lot and it is very worth it. I didn't want to buy it on Saturday as i have used up my June's weekend rebate quota. So i waited one more day but guess what ? They sold out both 16GB and 32GB version yesterday evening  cry.gif  Going to Singapore this Tuesday afternoon for one week and i thought i can bring my new iPad along  cry.gif
*
Bro, is a sign of good things coming your way if you wait tongue.gif Too bad in SG our MBB cards are not accepted for Ezy Pay where we currently get 5X TP with the Visa or MC.
