hi all,

My item kena tahan by custom and was supposed to be delivered by poslaju. I want to self declare myself because last time i ask poslaju to declare for me, the tax was quite high (not sure if any underground stuff going on there though)

Anyway, are there any thread that discuss about this? if yes, can provide link? (i try to search but can't find anything that is relevant)

if no, would need LYN member advice on the procedure. some of my questions are

1) i plan to drive but if got public transport which is cheap even better. i live in PJ (around sunway area), so any recommendation of public transport can reach klia directly (or transit a bit ok)

2) if i drive there myself, where should i go directly to settle? I know KLIA is quite big and i assume that place will be different from where we go normal flight

3) once i reach the "settlement area", what are the procedures? will it take a long time to complete?

4) poslaju charge RM 50 for clearance fee (excluding tax). anyone knows any reliable & reasonable priced 3rd party custom agent? how much they charge?

5) What are the working hours of custom for clearing goods?

P.S. where to find the link to check the tariff? the closest i can find is this one http://tariff.customs.gov.my/ but i feel it is not complete

Thanks

whoppss..be prepare to pay the tax

anyway, the custom is not located at the KLIA. it's at the post office near LCCT. You can see the post office on your right before reaching LCCT.

once u reach the guard house, pass them your driving licence to get the pass, then go inside and pass them the collection slip. they will bring out your parcel and you are required to open your parcel in front of those idiotic custom personnel that will try to tax you as much as you can while giving you that evil grin.

pay the tax at the counter, get the slip and show it to the evil dudes then collect your item back and leave the place and never come back

If you're willing to spend some time, can use public transport.

Get to any LRT station (if you're around Sunway area there are plenty of buses you can take) then head to KL Sentral. Walk outside and down stairs to the bus area and take the RM9-ish (RM9-12 if I remember correctly) to LCCT and once you're at LCCT, walk to the left (if you're facing the main terminal; away from Tune Hotel) and if you stick to the walkways you'll eventually reach the Pos Malaysia area

technically speaking, if the thing is 0% tax u don't have to pay tax. but stylus i am not sure is under which category and they will decide which category it falls into and how much to tax. bring extra cash just in case u need to pay the tax.

public transport is explained by the user above ^
they open every saturday. be there on morning better cause by afternoon lots of ppl will be there. i'm there at least once a month. in fact this saturday morning i will be there, i'll see if i can bump into u or not. haha

lol. you must be a big trader to having to go there so often. I guess those custom ppl already know you quite well. biggrin.gif

how are you going there?

if you are not far from PJ, we can car pool (i drive or you drive doesn't matter). haha

btw, is there any reliable online document to see the tariff?

P.S : i notice in the poslaju form it says "closed on 1st Saturday". This coming saturday is 1st, you sure open?
