I'm in this industry sector, and a few reasons why Proton is losing money is definitely Lotus. However, other major reasons are quite well known.
Cronyism (there's a list called Untouchable suppliers) is rampant, as well as cost over-run within the entity itself. Another weakness is the marketing team, as well as the quality consciousness within the organisation itself. The only solution is basically to change the culture of the whole organisation itself and free it from the involvement of politicians. This can be achieved by actually hiring capable management. |
