hey folks. i need help here. just starting early this month, the mkv keeps on crashing half way whenever i play mkv in vlc player. this is the error message.

File reading failed:
VLC could not read the file (%m).

so what should i do now 2 overcome the crashing? its getting very annoying i could not finish all my mkv movie collection due 2 the crashing keeps appearing half way. thanks. here is my spec.

core i5 750 stock speed
4gb ram
hd5850 stock speed
vlc 2.0.0

Try doing a clean reinstall on VLC see if this works. VLC takes sightly longer to open .mkv files

Corrupted video? the most simple way is change player.
if same thing also happen means video is corrupted or harddisk got bad sector.

don use vlc lo.. use mpc

must be file corrupted one...not enuf data wen finish dl

occur on all mkv files?? remove vlc including registry data then re-install again.. install the latest codec pack..

^ VLC dont use codec pack, no matter what codec pack you have intsalled, VLC will use its own built-in codec instead

Try VLC 1.1.11? 2.0 gives lots of problem.

If it is still the same I think the file itself corrupted

Combined community codec pack (CCCP) + MPC_HC for most MKV.
Never use VLC player anymore since installed the CCCP codec.

Have you try to delete n reinstall it?
