QUOTE(zaidi @ Nov 21 2012, 12:24 PM) pi got restocked at element14. stock count is about 1400+ so there's plenty to purchase! i just ordered one. the web will not show free shipping, but when I receive the order acknowledgement it's stated there that the shipment is indeed free. I used this buffalo adapter for wireless and it's working fine for arch linux http://www.buffalotech.com/products/wirele...ess-usb-adapterWould you mind sharing your experience on using Rasp? I would like to know the overall performance. Are you fully satisfied? I know it can play h.264 1080p, but what about lossless audio(dts-hd ma and truehd)? Hows the menu navigation speed? What about loading images(fanart etc). thanks.

QUOTE(urra901109 @ Jun 10 2013, 04:19 AM) This is exactly what i have done with mine.. (For now) yes with the right power supply. In my case 1.5TB (1tb+500gb). To get this setup working i use galaxy tab's charger. It is rated at 5v2A through a powered hub. You obviously need a beefier supply. 1x2.5"hdd consumes ~ 1A for it to spin up. Yours might need something close to 5A(with some wiggle room) ATX power supply might do the job but you may not like it as it is too bulky. I personally make my own cable, with thicker gauge wire on the power line and as short as possible. Another thing for you to consider is the pi already have a usb hub chip on it built in, so the usb speed is likely to be bottleneck by it. My samba server using lan ~3-5MB/s read ~2-3MB/s write. My setup: » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « This is during the construction With wd 1tb ext hdd below it i wonder. what do you do for living? what company did you work for?
