Indeed, before this I considered to get android box as Kodi machine but not anymore with rpi2
Do you use hdmi cec or ir remote to control Kodi?

Here are your choices for remote:
1. Use your TV remote if your TV's HDMI supports CEC. eg. For Samsung TV's the CEC feature is called AnyNet+
2. Use your mobile phone, download and install Yatse
3. Plug-in a wireless keyboard based on RF (e.g. Logitech K400R or Logictech mk330). I don't recommend bluetooth or IR as these need line of sight.

Try the TP-LINK WN725N and here's the full description from other people who has used this wifi adapter for hotspot project http://raspberry-at-home.com/hotspot-wifi-access-point/
