This morning i found out my tyre had a nail sticking out of it .. had to bring it to the workshop to had it done.

unfortunately. i recently purchased this tyres which is less than a month old. zzzzzzzzzz

problem now is. this nail is considered shoulder towards sidewall. which in most cases people normally say cannot repair la.. dangerous... but i need your input.. can it be saved? i dont really drive tat fast.. max also 120.. it costs me a bomb to install this new tyre..

Drive fast or slow is not the problem. You cruise 30km/h if it happens, it happens.

XM2 is affordable.

I got it cause i wanted to spend abit more to get good tryes.. not on the pretext i can afford to get another one.. of the 4 tyres. i only changed two. to saved up for another set 6 mnths down the road.

Better have it changed, try ask the shop what is the trade in value of that tyre..

my car just got nailed by same screw/nail like urs yesterday.

go to tires shop and they charge rm5 to tampal it..

need to survey new tires coz my rear tires already botak..

Anyway why did u pulled out the nail?? Should have leave it there..

If ur spare tyre has almost the same condition then u can swap it and repair this as spare

well i had a situation like this, my tyre is ONE day old. i changed a new one.

the price of tyre is way cheaper, than the cost of repairing car and life.

you can ask mechanic to patch the tyre from inside

ts no worry for it. tyre shop sure can fix it using 'injection' method.
n its only cost u rm5. seriously, try ask for it.

Dude.. we know abotu the repair.. but this is kinda borderline sidewall, which most will tell u its not advisable to repair...

Still can use but don't over inflate it. Keep it s 220 kpa.

thanks guys for the great input. hopefully i can trade it in.. worst case scenario is to get a new one.

i got anothr suggestion frm a friend.. my old back tyres needs replacement soon. so ill change tat and bring it to the front.. this "puncture" tyres ill put behind.. the whole idea is to obtain steering control. which in this case if my front blows i hv none..

any critics for my above statement? (my back two tyres hv very little thread left)

i know bro.. problem is i saved quite allot for this tyres.. and everyday in my head ill try and save for another two to change soon.

everyday after i park my car ill inspect if my tyres are alright.. and now this shit happpens..

i dont understand.why so many tyre manufacture and many tyre model in market but in this situation (tayar kena nail) terus tayar become dangerous to use?

Maybe still can be repaired, if the puncture go thru the steel belt on top. Ask for patch repair, about RM15-20, not the RM5 repair.


If kena nail at thread area is still ok, coz got the steel wire on top that stop the tyre from getting deformed. But of coz get the patch repair, not the RM5 repair. RM5 repair meant only as temporary solution before getting proper repair.

If puncture at the side, and if even one of the string (which made of textile) is torn, after some time it will have like pimple coz the side is always subjected to flexing. And from the pimple, the rubber might torn, or in some extreme cases might lead to blow up.

better get it change.. last time i got same case like you.. i go repair it and yes still can use another few months but please note that i only use till 70% threads left and it punctured again.. and the main point is during the time after i finish my class and it punctured in my uni.. what an embarrass day..

bro, if u use til 70%, then change 1 pc new, then 1 side 100% and another side 70%.
