Hello people. I know it used to be nokia 5800 few years back. Because it accommodates what typical users want.

1. Smooth web browsing
2. 5megapixel camera
3. incredible GPS
4. overall smooth and friendly user interface
5. cheap
6. durable

If I were to buy a new phone for this year, any suggestion people? No budget constraint as this one I would wish to use it a longer time. Willing to wait for unreleased phones too. Keep the discussion on people!

Will be great if follow similar criteria as above. Most importantly, smooth and practical user interface. No body wants a laggy phone.

Upgrade version of 5800 should be nokia X6 and upgrade version of that is nokia n8.
Still awaiting the next best bangs for bucks phone.

Finally will be Nokia 808 PureView

I think there will be xperia active 2 or motorola defy 2 soon

not even the end of 2012...

For now, nokia lumia 710 totally suits u. But u said u want to use it for a longer time and no budget constraint, HTC one X with quad core processor? Who knows next time got some new stuff that needs multiple cores to run?

If GPS use is important and you want:
1. Use it overseas. Stick to Nokia.
2. Without data charge. Stick to Symbian because Window based Nokia do incur charges for Maps but not Drive.

I am going for Nokia 808 pureview for 2012

I wish it running WP

You must understand WP7 or android might not be able to handle something so complex like 41MP phone with his own GPU

Since you emphasize on fast and fluid os with gps, just go for WP. nokia lumia 800 or 900 if you willing to wait a bit or Lumia 710 if you want a budgeted WP without compromise on performance.

yea i suggest too go for WP7 with Nokia. Next update will support offline mode

So many nokia supporters. I'm using 5800 also and in the same dilemma as ts. Am also thinking of getting nokia for my next phone.

One question to. Nokia 808 n lumia when it comes to text messaging, is it qwerty keyboard or the dial pad keyboard?

One reason i am reluctant to buy other brand phones is because i greatly dislike QWERTY and prefers the old way of texting.

One other thing, what do you call the traditional messaging way using dial pad instead of QWERTY.

Been wondering that for ages.

Depends on individual i have android but i dont like it because it looks cartoonish.

Been busy with work. Will quad core phone be overkill? Anyway i myself am not really up to date so does WP7 phone has useful appstore?

2. WP need to be JB?!

there is no perfect phone. the one X won't be good in gps reception, as to all aluminium built devices. even if there is a plastic area designed to place the gps receiver (e.g. the apple logo on apple devices), they aren't as good as completely plastic casings. all i can say is, prioritize what u want first, if smoothness + user friendly, it's either the galaxy Nexus or the htc one x. if u want budget friendly, u can now get the sgs2 from digi with plan for 899. then update it to ICS, it will be a vast improvement from gingerbread, especially smoothness and responsiveness.

overall i'd say the nexus is your best bet. it will retain it's value much better than any android phone out there.

Yes the pureview is running symbian The new symbian OS powered by Belle doesnt lag anymore furthermore its running a 1.4ghz single core processor.

The main selling point is the camera. For me i like a good camera i can bring anywhere with phone function.

GPS still nokia wins with nokia drive the best part its FREE.

HTC One S really wont be available in Malaysia?

if budget is not an issue then get both la kekeke...anyway low yat now got this tablet fair...go there and check out all the option la....better go during the weekend coz they are having happy hour deal EVERY hour lol...hint hint samsung galaxy tab 7+ for RM 397 + free celcom broadband lol...ok or not??
