The sensor is bigger than my Fuji X10! FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU

X10 is 2/3" lol. I thought that's big enough for a compact then this came out.

The sensor is almost as big as Nikon 1 already.

Yeah those camera has 1/1.7 or 1/1.63 sensor. Fuji X10 and XS1 uses 2/3 which is slightly larger than those 3 but this 1/1.2 is much bigger. I guess those advanced compact camera maker (including X10 that i'm using) need to step up like Canon G1X which uses sensor almost as big as their DSLR.

I'm not getting this phone but thanks a lot Nokia for pushing the boundary of what's possible.

I see the PureView tech as something like this.

For example you have a 12MP (4000x3000) pic and you resize it for web use to 1280x960. It would look good & sharp right?

And at full 12MP we can pick any area of the pic at 100% zoom, and voila "lossless zoom".

Just my 2 cents.

Or in other words, pixel binning. Something like Fuji EXR to eliminate noise or/and increase dynamic range.

ic ic... pening already. So it's entirely new tech developed over the years. Just imagine what you can do if you can combine this with optical zoom. Massive 100x stalking camera.
