Hi, I have a few question regarding credit card. Currently I have 2 CC, Maybank Petronas and Aeon Classic.

1) I'm curious about the interest fees. How to calculate the 17.5% p.a. interest? Example if I have a overdue of RM1000, for that month how much interest I have to pay? RM175 or Rm175 divide by 12?

2) For both CC I have, the 0% easy payment plan is really a 0% interest or there are some hidden fees like processing fee? Example, if I bought an item with RM2400 price tag, from my understanding, after RM200 monthly, at the end of the year the total cost still RM2400 right?
*
1) RM175/12. Actually the interet imposed will be based on days. The earlier you pay, the less interest.

2) Yes you are correct for most merchants like Harvey Norman, Carrefour and Dell the total cost will be RM2.4K. But some merchant will advertise 0% interest free but they may charge you processing or admin fee.

hi,
im going to apply for credit card but duno which one is the good, between public bank classic n hsbc. the main purpsoe is to get an iphone at installment plan through apple store. act can be do that? make installment plan for iphone purchase at apple store? and what is the charges?
*
If just for an iphone, no diff lah. Go apply with the bank that is easy for you to make payment.

Apple Store online? They don't offer installment plan. For Apple dealers, better you go check with them. For DiGi, go to their website for more info.

Anyway, the new iPhone is schedule to be released in the 4th quarter this year. Better you wait and the current iPhone price will drop.

thanks for the advice. but how about those upfront interest fees? will there be any diff? is hsbc higher? its possible to make installment plan with the bank right?
im new to this and i just got my job so thought of applying a new CC and get an iphone.

thanks

for Easy Payment Plan, PBB do offer upfront interest plan (1-2% for up to 24 months). HSBC I got no idea. You go check their website lah, if got then compare yourself. But I got an advise for you, if HSBC do offer some kind of installment plan, better you read their Terms & Conditions.

For DiGi, 0% interest plan but for selected cards and need to sign 24 months contract.

Promotion valid till 30 September 2012

a) 6 months 0% rate of min purchase amount $1000 (Not for RHB Business Card)
b) 9 months 0%rate of min purchase amount $ 1000 (applicable to Education & Medical bills only not for RHB Business Card)

RHB has been extending the expiry date for the above offers, which is good.

And with you posting about the RHB Visa Infinite's annual fee waiver, it made me go check it out. Well the card no longer needs the cardholder to have a net worth of USD1M but annual income of RM240K/year. It comes with 4 combined complimentary passes to KLIA, LCCT, Senai and Langkawi whic is the same as their Plat Card doh.gif Overseas transactions earns 3X points. Looks like RHB is trying to attract customers who are into VI but their benefits are lacking compared to other Vis.

PLEASE SHARE !!
RHB Bank Travel Money Credit Card holder please take note.

Beware of 10% rebate sms from RHB Bank that they never keep their promise.
As can be seen 1st weekend of May , petrol transaction on 6th of May is RM 63.74, with cash back only RM 1.20 (Not said 10% RM 6.37).

I already have ONE CARD from UOB Bank that gives guaranteed 5% rebate, that time I was attracted by the sms so only I use RHB Travel Money. So,I walked in to the bank and lodge complaint ,although it's a very small amout to me, but I do believe will have other consumers with bigger expenses that use the same card and didn't get the actual rebate.

RHB Bank passed the case to tele-banking customer service and the 1st one attended to me is a guy who said he stand on my site ,understand my situation but he said he can't do anything ,end up he passed to his manager to called me back.

Then his manager , a girl, she called me and said she can't do anything as for only certain amount above of petrol transaction only entitle ,and ask me go read T&C that apply before use the card. How can you expect me to read it online before I use ? and I argue with her that should the message written GET UP TO 10% PETROL CASH BACK before the bank blast out...

End up, 2days ago they called me and they apologize to me and in return, they giving me RM 10x2 Parkson shopping voucher. So if you're using the same card, please check your credit card statement see wether you can get redeem the same Parkson voucher or not .hehe

Cheers ~
*
Bro, first of all, it's your fault for not reading the T&C. If you had, you will know it is not 10%. It was also discussed here.

Secondly, I recommend you remove the photo of your statement immediately as can I figure out your name on card and 16 digit card number easily. You'll regret big time you posted it here as there are many people lurking in this forum to get your info. Go delete the number and name completely and then repost.

fly126 has answered your question earlier on the minimum requirements. If you cannot wait and think you can get a credit card approved with 1.5 months payslip and without EPF printout, go try lah apply and share with us the outcome.

I have a Question here, if i have outstading bal. $2.24
wether the bank will charges me Late Payment Charge & Interest after the Due Date
or carry forward to next month bill... how much the interest be ??? unsure.gif  Thanks
*
Yes, you will be imposed late penalty if you did not make any payments prior to the Due Date and new transactions may also be subjected to interest besides the unpaid amount. You try lah and tell us how much interest is imposed tongue.gif

Also note, if you failed to make minimum payment, your credit history will also be tarnished.

To All:

This month, August 2012, is the best time to go apply for the Standard Chartered Business Platinum or Gold credit card. Reason being StanChart is offering FREE money for credit cards approved in August (this is a hot topic at SCB Thread). And to top that, the SCB Business Platinum and Gold credit cards approved in July and August 2012 are eligible for 5% cash back for Petrol thumbup.gif But, as usual, there are terms and conditions, click below link to read more.

Already google and search but answer not found.

Guys, I wanna buy electrical appliances, maybe rm2000 only,by using my hongleong cc. Then I want to convert the transaction to flexi payment plan. So, after swipe my cc to pay the thing, just call hong leong cs and tell them I wanna convert to flexi payment plan right? Easily approved or not? Cause someone in this forum shared his experience, he call hong leong cs to convert his transaction and the cs told him she will give him a call in next 3days. Lastly the girl didn't call n its appear rm1500 in his next bill.. Quite risky then if not approved.
*
I don't think HLB offers converting retail transaction to installment plans like AmBank or Public Bank. They are concentrating on Cash On Call (Personal Loan) or Balance Transfer. However, they do have Easy Payment Plan (EPP) with selected merchant where your purchase can be converted to 0% interest installment plan at time of purchase with the merchant. Check link below for more info:

This is the link for Hong Leong flexi payment plan. But subject to their approval. If not approved, then need to pay the amount by cash in the next bill.

This one also under hong leong. Promo. But still subject to their approval.

I wanna buy something from Machines. Hehe.  tongue.gif
Machines is not listed in the 0% installment plan from Hongleong. A bit leceh la hongleong sad.gif

Anyone using hongleong cc and tried this method, hope can inform me yeah tongue.gif
*
oh, they do have plan to convert retail transaction to installment, but at 5.99% upfront, it's not really 5.99%.

What you want not available at Harvey Norman? You can get 0% installments with HLB credit cards there.

Hi all,
wanna ask something,
the other days someone in lowyat approach me with pm saying that he is staff of the bank and ask me to apply CC through him.
after some consideration I have sent him my details for the application but now no news from this guy...
so I wanna ask could this be a scam?
*
First of all you should have reported him for sending you a PM, that's if you have not requested him to do so.

Secondly, you why would you trust anyone online?

To all, if you want a credit card, go apply online or go to bank branch. If you apply at the malls, request for agent name card, if he can't produce any, then he may be just a part timer.

That's against Forum's Rule & Regulations. Next time do not trust anybody you cannot verify, more so if the person can break rules and don't go by the book.
