I'm applying for citibank card via email, is it safe to submit all document via email, (payslip, application form, etc). I'm afraid they will abuse it(eg; applying with loan sharks). I have no choice since citibank don't have branch in Sabah.

I just received my card, applied last 2 weeks. But I was thinking, is it still beneficial to have SC card? If I want to send back the card and cancel it, any fees to pay?

What is the procedure?
*
You Still need to pay$50 GST of the Card becoz already Issued to You... rolleyes.gif
Call Customer Service no. at back of Card. to Cancel...(but prefer U keep the card maybe another 6 months)

But, I can tell now, I been trying to cancel my card 3 times already around this Year, they x let me cancel it sweat.gif
Keep on (call back) asking me to retain the card & Waive off AF & Offset GST for me....blink.gif

When i applied my first cc, they want me to provide 3 months payslip and need to work at same company for at least 6 months.
If you are fresh graduate, the chances will be slim if you just start work for 3 months only.

please teach me how to pump petrol using cc?also which to swipe first?the petrol reward card or the cc? so noob
*
Step by Step:
i) 1st insert your petrol card into the card Slot at the pump & remove the card after the instruction...
ii) Insert the Credit Card in the slot & wait for transaction (process) approval
iii) After approve (there was dime Green Light near the Card slot) You can retreat yr Credit Card now
iv) Take up the Nozzle & start petrol filling for your Car
& after finish it put the Nozzle back wait for receipt Printing after keep it for your record

Note: Petrol Transaction at the Pump (outdoor)
Pre-authorisation amount (usually $200) will be charged to customer's card account during the fill-up.The Pre-authorisation amount will be reversed back & the actual filled-up amount will be charged to customer's bank account(card) once the bank receives the actual filled-up amount from the acquiring bank. Average pre-authorisation holding days is 3-5 days

Why nowadays it's so hard to get a credit card?
I'm 28 and wanted to get a credit card...
almost tried all the credit card application, but turn out no response.

I'm earning more than than 2k, i gave them epf and 3 month salary, still none of them approved.
No commitment, no car loan, no house, nothing, just purely normal employee...
*
Nothing as 100% Guarantee Approval... sweat.gif
Is the bank who give CC approval Not the Agent said so, sometimes also depends on Your Luck
As I said before, I'm 30 Something baru got my 1st Credit Card after keluar kerja more than 10 years rolleyes.gif

What I know the bank are very stingy-strict when come to Credit Card application Now, mostly will reject ppl with No Credit History
They also need your latest 3 months Bank Statements which your salary credited to that Account as Supporting Document beside yr Salaries Slips,
EPF printout. This can Convince them, You betul-betul earn that Much $ tiada Tipu orang (This my own Experience).

OR You can Sign-Up for Fixed Deposit Pledges for Credit Card (min. $20k-$30k)
But Not every bank Accept it....Hears Maybank, HLB got this kind of service
the CL usually max up to the FD Figure that pledge only

& Lastly, Try to get Yourself Local Bank Credit Card (RHB, HLB) to build up yr Credit History 1st X Rush to apply Overseas Bank CC they x approve if you x have Credit History... blink.gif

You x have Credit Card is not the End of the World...so No Big Deal still got Debit Card to carry on... wink.gif
Cheers tongue.gif

Applied for 2 different cards at 1U just now.. was surprised to find out that all they need is your IC - insert it into the KWSP machine, use thumbnail verification and they print/check your records there. I asked if my salary slip is needed, agent said no.

When was this implemented? hmm.gif

noted with thanx ... do you know if maybank's points are more generous than citibank's - point for point basis? i'm not sure if both have same products for points conversion so what i meant was - to exchange for a similar item (maybe a voucher for comparison sake), which one requires more points to do so?

Almost same..lah laugh.gif

QUOTE(fox_shinoda @ Feb 4 2013, 10:43 PM)
I cancelled my Maybank Sony card last week 31/1/2013. The total due amount was Rm819.47. Went to a Maybank branch and filled in the credit card cancellation form. Paid Rm820 via CDM since the queue was long.

After that, I called customer service just to expedite the process. Was told again that it has been cancelled, was given a reference number as well.

Today, I login to M2U and saw that my card is still listed, with an outstanding balance of Rm18.76 and the statement was on 3rd Feb

Why is there a new additional charge? The card has been cancelled
*
Usually they need 3-5 Working Days to (Update) Procced your Request... sweat.gif
But any Enquiry You can Call up Customer Service to ask at 1300886688.hmm.gif

When I called them, the rep just said it is the finance charges, but does it make sense since I confirmed with the rep at the Maybank branch about the total outstanding amount which was RM819.47 as of 31/1/2013/. Paid Rm820 on the same day. The card was cancelled on the same day as well, not only via the form at the branch, but I also called Maybank customer care to expedite the whole thing, and the rep confirmed there are no more outstanding amount and the card has been cancelled on the system  sad.gif
