Is there any card that gives 2% cashback for general transactions (apart from MBB2)?

if you are not using the funds for a year or so, then go open an Alliance Bank Privilege Banking or RHB Premier Banking and get their credit card for free.  Advantage is that it will help you built up your credit history here and easier for you in the future get a credit card. Best of all, these banks don't charge you anything if your AUM falls below RM200K and still get to keep your Premier Debit cards and Platinum cards which allows you free entry to KLIA Plaza Premium Lounge and LCCT too smile.gif Click here to read my article on Privilege Priority Premier Banking Accounts and the credit cards issued for FREE.

Wow, they really won't bug you to come up with more funds once your AUM falls below RM200k and no penalty too ?

This card, along with Younique were some of the most popular credit cards back in 2008-2009. Back then Tinkerbell (who has since been promoted to a mod) was very into plastics too biggrin.gif

In my previous article titled Earn Pocket Money with Credit Cards, I have given example on Alliance Platinum cash back based on tiers. If you don't include the reward points, the total cash back for up to RM5K works out to be roughly 1.35% (RM68.70/RM5K) but if you add the reward points, the total equivalent cash back works out to be about 1.8%. The rewards points are evergreen.

No, not a single call from Alliance and RHB and it has been more than 9 months since my AUM dropped to below RM200K. As for penalty, I think only SCB and HSBC impose it. In my article Credit Card No.8 Fool at RWF, I mentioned that I went to surrender my RHB Premier Debit Card and cancelled my RHB Plat issued via PB but they told me to keep my cards. It seems RHB systems show my RHB Plat card annual fee waive till 2048! And the guy even told me I'll be rewarded with cash back to offset GST once I use the card - but this has yet to materilized. However so far I have been earning the monthly cap of RM50 from their 15% cash back at Imperial Group Restaurants on weekends. So I am happy that I kept the RHB Plat card.

Their kixcard application is in refresh,

Kixcard app usually will be up around 6-7. Forgot the eaxt timing.

M2 is just a web app, each item will connect to its application, ie treatpoints, account, billing, data power etc etc, their minimal function is savings n currect account.

What the heck is the "Qualifying Swipe", it's not even stated in the T&C!

I think as long as 1 swipe within 45 days from approval date:

QUOTE
“Qualifying Swipe” of minimum one (1) retail transaction within forty five (45) days from the date of card approval.
Qualifying Swipe shall include local and international retail and online purchases, recurring payments, 0% Interest Easy Payment Plan (EPP) and Zero Interest Installment Plan (ZIIP).

I don't think that is the meaning of "Qualifying Swipe"....

That statement is saying in order to entitle to get the first year annual fee waiver, one must make the "Qualifying Swipe" within 45 days of activation.

The 2nd sentence describe what type of transaction falls under that catogery: Qualifying Swipe shall include local and international retail and online purchases, recurring payments, 0% Interest Easy Payment Plan (EPP) and Zero Interest Installment Plan (ZIIP).

Anyway, I think the bags are all grabbed up since it is almost at end of promo period. I want the bag ! laugh.gif
