QUOTE(NothinUnusual @ Sep 15 2013, 04:10 PM) Hi guys,
I applied the Public Bank Credit Card Gold along when I did my car monthly payment. The thing is I am very new about these kind of things.
I want to ask if is there any yearly or monthly payment? From what I heard is that the yearly payment is waived as long as my car payment is still going on (which is 9 years) (Is it because they expect me to pay for the car using the card?). Also, let's say I bought RM 2000 stuffs. I paid RM 200-300 per month. Then how much interest r they going to charge me? You cannot use credit card to pay off car loans. Rule of the thumb, pay statement balance in full or at least make sure you know how to calculate the interest. Also, look at other card's benefits and decide which is best for you.

QUOTE(razifrahman @ Sep 23 2013, 06:51 PM) Recently, I applied for a credit Card from PB using my car loan as a backup. In my application form I ticked 2 boxes that visa gold or mastercard gold because t thought is either one. All i need is one card, so will they approve both or just give me one card or reject my application. I need to hear the opinions of the sifus here. You ticked 2 boxes but visa OR mastercard? If you mean, you ticked 2 boxes, for Visa and Mastercard each, then they will process 2 cards. If you only want 1, call them now to correct the situation This post has been edited by Human Nature: Sep 23 2013, 06:56 PM

QUOTE(RudeFatty @ Oct 7 2013, 10:31 PM) Meaning that salesman is misleading me? Aiya..but I filled the form d...not yet submit pay slip.. Yes. Do check the HSBC thread or even the website to know how the rebate system works. Have you submitted the photocopy of your IC? I would write to the bank and make sure that my application is null and void.

QUOTE(Duckies @ Oct 8 2013, 10:15 AM) 1. Let's say my bill comes on 3rd this month. The due date will be on 23rd Oct. I made full payment on 8th. So if i use my credit card now..my due date will be 23rd this month or next month? If your statement date is on 3-Oct, any transactions XVY after that will be in the next cycle 3-Nov. The due date for transaction XYZ will be on ~23-Nov. Since you are still new, it is good to clear the statement balance early but as you become more knowledgeable, you may try doing it nearer to the dude date. For example, if my due date is 23-Oct, I will clear the statement balance on 19-Oct. Shall let others answer your 2nd question.

QUOTE(Duckies @ Oct 8 2013, 12:04 PM) But what if I could not make full payment? Oh mine is public bank gold card. Not sure they charge interest on outstanding balance or on the moment of transaction itself Unfortunately I cant answer this as I got no knowledge on how the calculation works. Try reading the last page of your statement on the calculation mechanism

QUOTE(Duckies @ Oct 9 2013, 08:30 AM) Haha nice quote over there. Oh I have another questions. Is it true that we are limited to have cards from 2 BANKS ONLY? But within these 2 banks we can have multiple cards? For cardholders earning RM36,000 per annum and less, the following would be applicable: Cardholders can only hold credit cards from a maximum of two issuers.

QUOTE(Duckies @ Oct 9 2013, 11:02 AM) I checked the maybank card..it says 5% rebate on retail on weekends...so petrol is included? And also the interest rate is 17% as other banks are 15%? Hmm... Yes, petrol is included for the Maybank 2 Amex. Refer to the specific thread for more details. The 1st page is very informative.
