Added on July 19, 2012, 6:45 pmOK... let's aim for Lynskey R440.. 6AL-4V titanium...

Euro 3,990 jeh... bulk buy a lot... maybe 50 euros cheaper...

But we all can buy Tissot/Certina Titanium watches for less than RM2000.

human is emotional one ma... at least, i'm doing endurance sport to ease off my depress...

Running and cycling can excite our big brain... i know Bedminton too... but its need partner, not applicable for me.

anyone is doing Powerman? why its cost so expensive for RM170 early bird... run 11km - bike 64km - run 11km total 86KM.... average RM2 per KM....
*
I also think 170 is expensive for this, if we're comparing Penang bridge full marathon which only costs RM80. But then.. that's a half marathon split between a bike ride. I think it's gonna hurt after transition from bike to the 2nd run! I'll skip this

On a different topic, Shimano Tiagra brake pads are not effective enough especially in the wet/rain. Did Shimano think that Tiagra users won't reach xxx km/h and hence fitted it will less grippy pads?

The 28km route is still ok. The longer route to the Japanese Tea House is the real killer. Don't think its ridable for road bikes at the steepest points, as the gradient is just too steep, even on the lowest gears. Riding down from that spot on a road bike also got issues. Had ppl telling me of smoke coming out of their brakes.
*
the route to japanese Tea House is only 2km, it's the worst 2km I ever ride in my life.
I would rather run than cycle there..

The downhill + straight drain cover = killer for road bike, i almost got caught inside there..

while i am going down.. have to use drop bar to break, even then it feels not good enuff, still 30k+..

The loop is only 24k right? another 4k is to pay RM12 to get to colmar

well it's different la, it's not distance a lot than make up duathlon fun.. but Rm170 memang expensive..

Shimano thinks tiagra user's life cost less..

I lost my cadence Magnet on my medal.. I am not sure what's the thing call, any idea how to get the replacement? looks like it snapped during PD tri.. just detected it's missing after 2 weeks...

I guess you can check around the different bike shops asking them for it. there are spares being sold. And any magnet will do. I've been mixing magnets between cateye, topeak and sigma all this time.

to be fair... even expensive pads can have very poor wet weather performance.. brake pads are always a balance between 3 things

1) pad wear / rim wear
2) performance in both stopping power and modulation
3) wet performance

pad wear and rim wear is often heading in opposite direction... where often one is good, the other one suffers....

i use Zipp Platinum Tangente on alloy rims and i can say even those don't enable me to brake late in wet conditions...

if you ride in rain a lot... i suggest you invest in a pair of wet or all weather pads... i have used koolstop pad inserts in the past quite succesfully... not exactly cheap but also not as expensive as zipp or swiss stop pads... they have dual compounds to assist in different weather conditions and a slightly thicker rear end of the pads so you don't need to toe in the pads to reduce brake squeels....

it's a very old brand but hard to find them nowadays... or at least i could not get them after i wore my last pair down...

your computer brand will usually sell replacement units... worst case if not... other brand magnets should work as well... i know sigma would have quite some replacement parts made available... but might be too far for you to travel to KH Cycle to get em... better call and check up first and see if the magnet is around the same size as yours?

The twisted tour de france final jersey presentations

I wear tri-pants and race provided Tee shirt during my previous short duathlon.
You can do with cycling pants too, but mine looks a been to saggy and my pants keep falling off when i run. so i don wanna be caught on the camera for that..

Tri-pants main advantage is the swim part which is not too important in powerman i guess

didn't know bkt tinggi was a loop... have to go recon again if i am not too lazy...

last 2K is from 1:45 onwards? covers 1000 feet in 2K... quite steep... should be averaging above 12% gradient... not to say crazy... but a very tough slog up the incline if you have a narrow cassette...

you meant to type fastest instead of fattest is it? hmm.gif

i think the sigma ones are a tad less than that... i think i saw RM35 last time around...jus double side tape the bugger and zip tie it to your crank arm...

most salesperson know jack shit about what they are selling nowadays... bosses only want to hire staff that are cheap to pay and not staff who have a passion in what they are selling...

it's the reality... we all work for a paycheck at the end of the day...

haha when i click into my own link, surprised to see the revamp the interface,
it actually looks better than my own trainingpeak user graphs and interface.

RM35 for a piece of magnet, looks like no choice =(

I weight 95kg, you would hardly see anyone bigger than me in triathlon community usually..

95KG isn't that bad... like eric cartman always says... "I'm not fat, I'm big-boned"

give KH cycle a call... a call costs nothing.. better than wasting petrol to go around looking for it...

that, or jus strap any magnet you can find onto the crank arm and see if it works... it's only a matter of getting it close enough to the sensor...

my compression wear = compression short pant... this mean to be smoothen "geseran" between 2 parts. Reduce crafing.

FYI, i have 3 same design of LineBreak compression pants, i wear it for TRX workout, short running, body pump, RPM and etc etc... only when come to heavy running / trail, i wear my compression SKINS top and short pant for it. example, trail running inside FRIM for 3 hours.

the compression you mean is Long Compression Pant, which mean for recovery, wear it for overnight, your legs will feel like fresh the next day.

I'm dont know how to swim. Tri pant would be next upgrade if im eager / lost rational again. But 2XU short tri pant is blooody expensive! RM400 plus! can get long compression pant le!

To be honest, for cycling, i wanted to get compression bib too... but it's damm extreme bloody expensive! can sky up to RM1,000. rclxub.gif This 1 i'm very concious and never can lost my rational as it's hurting my pocket too much. A pains that i cant endurance!

ohhh... geseran... isn't that the job of your lycra shorts? nothing to do with compression rite... i guess my nads must be like the roasted chest nuts the unkers in sri petaling street sells...

my one is not long one wor... it's like the usual bike short length.. not long like 3/4 covering knee caps even... and it was written there post-recovery for purpose...maybe to be used with those japanese school girl knee high socks??? maybe i got conned??? anyways, one of my rather impulsive / experimental buys... the one where you usually regret for buying 5 seconds after the credit card transaction goes through...

anyways, i am not a pro competing for wins.. this stuff is overkill.. and not 1 bit enjoyable... rather push the money in direction of spending it on the bike...

To be honest, for cycling, i wanted to get compression bib too... but it's damm extreme bloody expensive! can sky up to RM1,000.  rclxub.gif  This 1 i'm very concious and never can lost my rational as it's hurting my pocket too much. A pains that i cant endurance!

endurance sport ma... both physically and monetary...
ohhh... geseran... isn't that the job of your lycra shorts? nothing to do with compression rite... i guess my nads must be like the roasted chest nuts the unkers in sri petaling street sells...

my one is not long one wor... it's like the usual bike short length.. not long like 3/4 covering knee caps even... and it was written there post-recovery for purpose...maybe to be used with those japanese school girl knee high socks??? maybe i got conned??? anyways, one of my rather impulsive / experimental buys... the one where you usually regret for buying 5 seconds after the credit card transaction goes through...

anyways, i am not a pro competing for wins.. this stuff is overkill.. and not 1 bit enjoyable... rather push the money in direction of spending it on the bike...

perhaps bcoz i'm from ultra running background, my perception is different on compression wear.

A good compression wear helps me go through 100KM ultra trail with running / walking over 24 hours.... that's y im bringing the same perception that cycling compression can give the same comfort for cycle long.

To be honest, if those japanese school girl knee high socks got compression effect, i dont mind getting one...

the 2XU compression sock cost about RM149 le...!

y would i want to bluff you.

it's 2XU long compression pant. u can ask the seller is it true or not? been using it for 2 years, it's just become physiological effect now. the compression no longer giving compression as new, and yet you feel the recovery in good progress. rclxub.gif

that's my experience. But as i'm training more, i realised, compression wear for recovery doesnt hold anymore. now i just need 2 days to recover naturally without any aids of external influence. you just need to endure the pain in the process to be stronger and recover faster.

Now i just need comfort compression pant for every single workouts.

running 42km, its just become weekly affair if i'm continue pursue in running.
