thanks butthead for sharing your experience with sram. looks like pretty good option. when the time comes, maybe i'll pick up sram. i love the shape of the shifters as well. not very flowerhorn shape like shimano. sram's moving towards 11s too?

yeap, i read people been suggesting force instead of red.

is that lance telling contador how to properly 'boost his training/performance'?

taken from one of Red 2012 review

QUOTE
I’ll do a more in-depth review of the new Red soon; we have a group on the way I’m told. Here’s what I’ll leave you with: I know a number of who tried Red and decided it wasn’t for them. They have been more than willing to let me know why they didn’t like it. The complaints I heard at least three times are as follows:
1. Lever body was too big for someone with small hands.
2. Lever hoods were too smooth for sweaty hands.
3. The front shifting was wimpy due to the titanium cage on the front derailleur.
4. It was hard to drop a rear wheel out because the derailleur sat too far forward.
5. The shifting is confusing.
Except for that last (which is easy enough to sort out if you just spend a day on a bike with Red), all those items have been sorted out.

if force is equivalent to DA, then DA stands at the lowest point among its competitors? DA = chorus = force?

Sorted with Yaw capable front FD in Red 2013
4. It was hard to drop a rear wheel out because the derailleur sat too far forward.
I can't comment much on this... kinda true and for fitting wheel back in as well, have to push down on the RD
*
3. the new one no longer have titanium cage, right?

4. depends on the frame/hanger as well i guess. didn't have problem with DA7900 on kuota frame, until i change to tarmac. difficult to remove the rear wheel. anyway the review says that this problem has been resolved in the new Red

no youtube now. later go home i take a look at the one you posted

it's a fair deal... but, people might question why sell after only 10KM

maybe you accidentally stepped on and planted the shoe into a pile of cow shit or something like that...
*
no la. i should have gotten size 43 instead. so i'll just leave the shoes in its box for now

Hi all sifu! Need some opinion here. I have 2 choices for my bike computer. Polar cs200 and sigma 1909 her. Which is a better choice eh? I'm getting it from my frequent flyer program so its practically free. Thanks !
*
do you need cadence sensor? if yes, go with polar. if no, go with sigma.

i have polar cs200cad, was difficult to set up the first time. had to really get the position/distance between head unit and sensors correct. you can throw away the manual.

the downside of CS200, the speed and cadence sensors are sealed, so you can't replace its battery. on paper, it's good for 3500 hours. but, actual might be less. the speed sensor is RM1xx. HR strap and head unit batteries can be replaced.

Hi all,

First time here.

Just came back from Rodalink putrajaya.
Was looking for my first roadbike. Anyone here has experience With polygon helios road bike. The guy there recommended a helios with full 105, which costs Rm3999. I think it was helios 7000.
Is it a fair price? Or any other shop has better offer?

They have helios wihlth full tegra at 2499. Does 1500 difference worth for 105?
*
how come helios with ultegra cheaper than helios with 105? ultegra is one tier up than 105

khcycle and jami bike centre both have 23mm. khcycle sells them for rm157.xx after discount. i think jami sells cheaper.

thx bro for the reply. The thing is there's a friction squeaky sounds which after getting my bb serviced, it still there. Just now getting my pedals greased and hopefully the sound is not there during my next climb. As you already mentioned before, the dreaded sound is hard to identify..dunno where the hell does it coming from..haihs.
*
had the same problem. serviced the bb, but still squeaking when climbing. it squeaked at the same crank arm position. finally found the problem; loose chainring bolts. tighten them, but haven't tested yet. you might want to check your chainring bolts.

my mechanic friend says try not always service your BB, as when you servicing your BB, you're killing your BB.

all the grease are clean up, and if it's not done properly, problems and lifespan will reduce, sound problems....
*
not literally remove the seal or removing the grease. periodically (maybe once or twice a year), remove the crankset and bb to make sure it won't sieze and regrease appropriate parts. also to ensure everything is as tight as it should. also to clean the inside of BB if there's any water ingress

woah... 180cm height, top tube 52, seat tube 47. u sure u got the right size?

well if u can ride comfortably, handling's okay, and your posture on the bike is correct (hands on the hood and in the drops), the size should be fine.

i'm 160cm, top tube 51.8, seat tube 49, stem 100
