yesterday my flx cvt engine died at traffic light. i don't know why, quite scared if died again. but so far that's the only one.
i drive normally, speeding and hard brake, aircond speed is 1 and half the temp switch. change from N to D without pressing brake..
nvr happens before, need to check with SC, this weekend is my 3rd service. will go to section 13 pj.

QUOTE(dares @ Mar 20 2012, 04:08 PM) You're not the only person who encountered this, it seems the Campro engine will go asthmatic after hard revving or cold start, dunno if it has anything to do with the CVT. Someone mentioned can update the ECU at the SC, maybe you could explore that avenue. Added on March 20, 2012, 4:09 pmSome things can't wait, some things too annoying to wait, lotsa reasons lah. Sometimes when you go to the SC, they either make you wait whole day, or ask you to come back next week etc. o really.. that's new to me. will ask the sc about this. about the occurring trip to sc within a month, it can't be help other than trying to accept it and be cool, really depends on luck.

QUOTE(Nooby Lim @ Mar 22 2012, 12:11 AM) fuel consumption of 1.3 seems nt consistent? 1.6 ismore fuel efficient? 1.6 cc shud b higher in fuel consumption theoretically.. that DWEBBB is mine currently not so good around 11km/l.. almost town drive. highway and long journey is much better. not consistent mybe because town drive and 1.3, i tends to rev higher esp on hilly road and after traffic light. another thing to consider is when i refill petrol, it might not totally full, hence calculation not fully reliable. how i wish we hv onboard fc info and yes 1.6 cvt might be better. 1.6 manual seems to be the same as 1.3 cvt of worst depends on driver. QUOTE(Nooby Lim @ Mar 22 2012, 09:27 PM) according to SA. saga FC is ard 13-14 cent per KM... any1 can achieve tis fc? saga mirror gt uv protection/reflex? achievable.. that translated to 13km/l and above.. or 400km for 1 full tank easy to achieve that for highway drive. city drive possible but u need to drive slow and not rushing just drive normally enough.. it won't drink petrol much. if wanna really save on fuel we have viva or ride motorcycle this fc thing got a lot of factors affecting it.. some car manufacturer stated how they tested it.. some don't and still, not many will be able to achieve the published fc. done my 3rd service at proton section 13, pj. seems to be better than Mutiara Damansara. I brought my own oil Eneos Moly bought from lowyat forumer ( [WTS] Eneos). Ask them to check rattling on rear left door. They did adjust door trim and bracket i believe, but the rattle is still there, slightly less than before. I won't bother to ask them again, just need to apply soundproof on all doors. That should fix it. For Eneos moly oil, my car seems to be like the 1st day i receive it. Much more silent than before and better pick-up. Hopefully can also improve fc. This post has been edited by huzaifa136: Mar 24 2012, 01:48 PM

QUOTE(zeone @ Mar 24 2012, 05:51 PM) Dunno if true or not... but me read somewhere...that most of solid additives suspended in Engine Oils wld NOT be able to pass thru good oil filters! there's always a chance for that, but it's improving.. nowadays should be a lot better. some said it's the same as non additives oil.. QUOTE(V12Kompressor @ Mar 25 2012, 02:58 AM) you can bring your own oil and your warranty isn't void. But if there is anything happen to the engine, there are chances that Proton can put the blame on the "unauthorized engine oil". So, in the end, it depends on how you argue/ask for leniency. one thing i noticed, proton don't hv their own engine oil. and i've read somewhere that not all sc using the same oil. so it's highly possible to bring our own oil and not void the warranty. p/s: toyota engine oil is full syn.. that's what used in my mother's rush This post has been edited by huzaifa136: Mar 25 2012, 10:07 AM

Therefore i need you to buy a 1.3 so that I could clear off my stock before the value depreciates. i wonder if saga fl stock still available? flx se still rare on road.. and flx not as popular as saga fl

I usually rev until 2.6-3k before i shift, to ensure after shift at least have 2k rpm. You shift too low rpm is torqueless, end up waste more fuel. Normal day working 50% city 50% highway FC not less than 12km/L, usually around 12-14km/L...pure highway drive, 16km+/L... What i can tell you is Saga best FC rpm is around 2k~3.6k, tested both 90km/h (3000rpm) and 110km/h(3600rpm) for 500km+ pure highway drive, FC also around 16km/L. does this applied to cvt too?

QUOTE(ibnuasad @ Mar 27 2012, 02:24 PM) When I saw the spec sheet, I also thought CVT would save more fuel than MT but after seeing my friends car...it's the other way round Senang cerita, 60km/h - 80km/h to save fuel in my experience on cvt when going back to hometown, highway at around 150kmh is a bit high fc than 90-100kmh on trunk road. that's the best fc i got around 15km/l. Both are better than city driving. Added on March 27, 2012, 2:33 pmQUOTE(coolkwc @ Mar 27 2012, 02:28 PM) Yup, thats ppl always said want good FC drive slow, but not drive low rpm, lol... Want to speeding with decent FC, get higher power engine car. Anyway, the gooding about low RPM for CVT is lower engine noise @ high speed, this one i love it. true. the faster u reach the optimum power (90-100kmh) the better. however it may not apply to stop and go traffic This post has been edited by huzaifa136: Mar 27 2012, 02:33 PM
