OC or non-OC?
if OC to 1600, I got 7352(non-G).
You might want to try Basemark. It's like 3Dmark for Mobile.
hehe i think g version haven got oc kernel..that score for non oc..
lolz quite high also 7352 haha..

I think super rom v1.0 must be installed first before anyone can flash to the v2.0 as instructed from xda page iinm. I just flash super rom v2.0 recently.
-flash to Lucifer kernel using Odin mobile as the kernel has built-in cwm. Lite version also can.
-backed up all the thing necessary.
-download super rom v1.0 from their page and extract it to internal sd memory to sdcard/clockworkmod/backup folder. (if you can't find backup folder in clockworkmod directory simply created one)
-reboot in recovery (can access easily by holding power button and choose recovery)
-wipe data, cache, dalvik cache
-select backup and restore in cwm menu, then select backup. If you extract it correctly there's should be the rom name from the option then just proceed.
-wait until it finished flashing and reboot the phone.
Now to update to version v2.0
-download the super rom v2.0 file and put in internal sd card as it is. No need to extract or anything.
-reboot in recovery.
-select install zip from sd card and find the super rom v2.0 zip file and select it.
-wait until finish flashing and reboot the phone.
-voila, super rom v2.0 installed.
Hope this helps

lol, i remember i flash from stock to 2.0 dun have any prob as those ppl mention bug on installed stuff dun appear etc.. btw i think u reply wrong, i teaching the guy then u give a full step on me instead of the guy haha..

Once again...the G version is not that bad. We are getting development of custom kernels and roms these a days too.
If you would say 'get a non g or don't get a S2 at all' Its ridiculous. They are both still S2's and are loved by millions. I own a G version and I know how to use maximize it to the best. Just dont install cracked software and you will be fine.
+1 i feel insulted when they say this..
now i starting to see the G version start to develop custom kernel and rom maybe because more n more people getting G nowaday..
QUOTE(mtxx @ Mar 3 2012, 11:35 AM)
actually i support the idea of
'get a non g or don't get a S2 at all'
reason is that i really have no confidence in the g version.
mine is non g, have *ahem some crack games on it. but never hang before (seriously, NEVER). worst case is sometimes app force close, or it restart itself during heavy usage multitasking (very very very rarely).
but my friends g version, non rooted and no crack apps. all of a sudden under normal use also will hang. hang as in the whole phone stop responding. camera also always hang. need remove battery or long press power button kind of hang. he often complains in his fb. for a android noob like him, make him no confident in android only.
non g uses the very smooth and powerful exynos.
thats the difference that sets it apart.
for new users, if you are spending close to RM2k, recomend you get the galaxy note.
also use exynos. bigger amoled. :-)
ur fren on stock where can compare

its just like comparing a modded sport car with a stock car..
i tried my friend phone on stock pull down notification bar also got spike..
then i flash with kernel n rom + themes.. end up satisfaction n feeling smooth..
QUOTE(TheLaptopDudeGuy @ Mar 3 2012, 11:37 AM)
Does ur unit ever face any camera hang issue on stock rom? Or can it be fixed by custom rom?
Does he put an external sdcard? If yes, tell him pull it out, and see if still hang or not.
One thing that bugs me most about g version is camera hang, why on earth hasnt samsung issue a proper fix yet?
My advice is if u dont really mind AP, then go get non g version. If u insist ori, then try scout for non g. If cant find, then go for g.
Added on March 3, 2012, 11:39 amIf so, then dont tell users that its normal for g version to hang. Its the pirated apps problem, not the phone itself.
i dont face camera hang issue for long time.. it can be fix by custom rom.. only stock i face it.. but some people stock also dun encounter.. its very low posibility..
QUOTE(1wildcat1 @ Mar 3 2012, 12:13 PM)
lol as you like la non g or no s2 at all. Its a phone, and it works perfectly as a phone and more for me. Just hope people would stop spreading non true facts about the phone.
Remove your crack apps, clear your multitasking and you will get a butter smooth phone.
I don't remember the last time my G lag'd or hanged at all.
haha... i remember my last hang is few day ago.. end up flash to rc rom.. xD
QUOTE(lord_aminkin @ Mar 3 2012, 12:15 PM)
Well I've got the G version and I can't wait to get rid of it once S3 is out and I've got enough dough to buy it. Why? Let me tell you why and bear with me its quite long whining. Spend almost 2K on a phone I can say its not wrong for the long whining.
Its all because of only one aspect of the phone but its a major aspect because I use it most of the time when using this phone. Music player. I never installed cracked apps as advised by most user here so the phone should be doing fine but no. Its never fine.
First, it freeze when I put it in my pocket after I played an mp3 player. Regardless whatever player I used. Stock player, winamp, poweramp. Its not normal freeze but you-can't-do-sh*t-unless-you-take-off-the-battery-freeze. It happen every time after the phone been up for quite some times. If restart, the same case won't happen again.
Then there's the skipping of the track problem. When the mp3 player been using for quite some times, the player will randomly skip some tracks. Sometimes the whole playlist. It started with minor skipping within the song then it goes haywire skipping all those track as it pleased. This also happen regardless whatever player I can throw to the phone. I try paused it and go back the track it skipped and played it again, still can play fine then after a while skipping will began again. Its annoying as sh*t.
That's all happen on a stock rom. Then I followed advice from fellow forumer to change to custom rom and flash different kernel and now I'm using superROM v2.0 with superatmos kernel 2.1 (using Lucifer for a while but battery draining double fast so change back to superatmos).
Okay, the freezing problem gone with the wind. But still there's a few freeze or minor hang when using other apps but those doesn't bug me much. But the skipping track problem still persist and it bugs me as a hound from hell. A few other nights when on the way back from work I felt like I want to threw this phone to pieces when the skipping problem still occurred even after I flashing rom and kernel if not for its 1.7K price. If it cost me 200 ringgit this phone would be already been in pieces somewhere at Kastam JB.
So, I thought maybe its microSD because I'm using 32GB class 4. So, I took the 16GB class 10 from my now useless Mi300 and tried it. Got off from work open player and played the files. For quite some time it was doing okay. I felt happy but only those happiness to be shattered into pieces as I almost reach my destination minor skipping within tracks occurred. Then the major super freaking annoying major skipping tracks began. It still happening on class 10 microSD but took a little longer. FYI, this problem never occurred when I'm using my CSL Mi300 and even the now super useless HTC Touch before. Other aspect of S2 works like charm and I love every other thing on the phone just the music player irritates me to the death.
My impression towards Samsung phone degrading. Might even considered now about that S3. Sigh~
early i dun have this problem..
- -" then recently last week i have simillar prob as u in music playing...skipping track few sec +hang till whole screen black and need hold power to reboot.. i think some apps i installed have crash..
then i flashed to galaxy rc4.1 and try play music over 2hr...smooth enough without those skip or hang.. maybe u should try it out
