Do you have battery issues with your setup? I'm using CRV6 + RedPill as well.
The problem is when the phone is rebooted, the battery stats gets "reset" again.

QUOTE(TheLaptopDudeGuy @ Feb 27 2012, 11:58 AM) What do u mean battery stats get 'reset' u mean once ur phone reboots ur phone auto battery calibrates itself? Instead of keeping previous up time, the up time graph starts from 0s again.

Loving the redpill's significantly lengthy battery life, but the bugginess of the battery stats is annoying as f*** :|

I don't claim to know exactly how the kernel decides what current to pull, nor how the charger chip assumes control of the maximum allowable charging current.
However, I can be very sure that adapter ratings have very little to do with how fast you can charge your phone. Current draw is load dependent, assuming constant voltage. This means that how much current it will draw depends on how much the phone wants to draw. In this case, the rating merely means how much you can pull from the charger before it brakes.
You want fast charging, then you'd have to look at the phone. As long as the adapter's rating is high enough, all else depends on the phone.
