Yup, without steel plate mean you can just ply-off the switch(top) to reach and swap the stem and spring.

Different between red and black are mainly on spring. There is some minimal different between the stem.

Easiest way to get spring is to buying old and junk used keyboard from taobao(or anyplace you like).

Actually most RD is consider tactile. Just that it will disintegrate as the RD is worn throughout the usage.

The tactility of brown being felt at quite earlier compared to dome. The linearity of them do feel around the same with RD just b4 they bottom out.

If you only want braille fonts then may be easier, wasdkeyboard can made them. If want the braille surface then is close to impossible, or at least cost you an arm and leg.

I wonder if braiile keycaps ever had any real uses/needs as I pretty sure blind typists should probably master touch type. Also I don't think the short contact times are enough to read the legends well...
