Belated Ducky 9008G2pro review - brief version (photos coming soon)

9008G2pro is the name of Ducky's latest mechanical keyboard model. Details are available at DuckyChannel website.

It is mean to replace 9008G2, they've removed it from their product list. (this explains the recent price drop of 9008G2)

Note:
- lower profile (slightly lower than 9008G2 due to different bottom case) [wait for photos]

head's up for the good summary!!!!

QUOTE(epiguru @ Apr 23 2012, 12:15 AM)
OK, thanks. We'll find out in a few months if mine has the same problem. I plan to give the keyboard a good workout, like 10 hours a day.

10 hours a day? a programmer? laugh.gif

@rurushu - LOL. No, I'm not a programmer. I do statistics (number crunching on Stata mainly), write reports, and blog (on my corporate site, membership site, and personal site). On some days, I can spend up to 20 hours at my workstation/office. I'm a healthcare consultant. When I'm away from my office, I attend meetings, do live training, give talks, conduct surveys, and spend/waste time at airports.

My Logitech Illuminated Keyboard K800 too feels good when typing, suitable for my HTPC. Mechanical keyboard is more suitable on working desktop or intensive typing like my steelseries 6gv2. But it is basically based on people comfort. I do like typing on notebook (similar to K800) and I love to type on my mechanical keyboard
*
erm.... for me, im more keen on typing on fullsize keyboards, cannot stand the notebook keyboards, feel like didnt actuate the keys and cannot "feel" where is the key.... sweat.gif

one for backlit brightness control, one for volume control
*
i see... but then.... it still looks like BWU.... just that the side G-keys are moved to the top and additional 2 scrollwheels... which has its pros and cons....
pros: easy to adjust, fast, can micro adjust....
cons: during gaming, may accidentally changed the settings, or scrollwheel gone loose or less responsive over time...

QUOTE(Human10 @ Apr 29 2012, 03:17 AM)
Erm, I would suggest that it "may"(cause no proof/evidence yet) be a good buy, provided you are a fan of only macro and backlit keyboard.

The reason I say "may" is because some sources claiming that Trigger may be made by Costar(FYI, guesses b4 are iOne made it). In other words, if Costar made it, it may be a good board with built quality comparable to FILCO. If iOne made it, then it may be similar to what Razer BW is.

P/S: Now I am even more convinced that Trigger is made by Costar, cause all boards by Costar are always labeled Made In Taiwan.
http://www.ocaholic.ch/xoops/html/modules/...mTrigger_16.JPG
It also using Cherry style stabiliser, which never saw being used by iOne b4.
http://www.coolpc.com.tw/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?f=77&t=85983
*
eh? but i thought Costar made keyboards are using the wire type stabilizers? Cherry style on Costar board? hmm.gif hmm.gif

QUOTE(Human10 @ Apr 29 2012, 03:46 PM)
Some random pics I came across in this tered(you know, it is hard to actually "see" the keyboard, if you know what I mean...):
http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/2312435/all

A wild Razer BW user appeared.

QUOTE(lucidlts @ May 1 2012, 08:30 AM)
just a piece of collection i'd say
btw, any plan of getting the mkc acrylic case? ima getting a 104 case if there's any  thumbup.gif
*
they said got 104, but i only saw the sample 87 key type....

QUOTE(Human10 @ May 1 2012, 09:29 PM)
BTW, anyone feel that "MKC" is scary shiat(in a good way)?

1stly they are the 1st one who come out with affordable metal(Zinc) keycaps, but the finish isn't too impressive. They then expand their range to acrylic wrist rest. Next, they come out with "SS7G"-fying wrist rest for Filco 104 & 87, but isn't perfect fit(got some gaps). Next they popped out with the acrylic case for Filco and also CNC anodised aluminium keycaps. After all this, they now go into refinening stage which refine their old flawed products such as Zinc keycap and SS7G wrist rest(heard that now it fit even better).

Their speed and persistent in improving their products and ranges are really impressive....

Among their products, i am interested in these three only.... still keeping eye on them... see if the review are worth mentioning or else... dont wanna regret later buying them.... laugh.gif laugh.gif
