QUOTE(rurushu @ Mar 11 2012, 11:41 PM) you mean CM's mech keyboards are manufactured by 2 OEM? the quick fire rapid by Costar and the Trigger by iOne? They are not some professional mechanical kb manufacturer, thus they are finding OEM to make their product. The last mech kb(Quickfire Rapid) is made by Costar. Their upcoming product such as Trigger and Quickfire Rapid Pro are probably from iOne. You can see that features, aesthetics and structures wise, they look quite identical to Razer BWU and Tesoro Durandale(BWU's clone brother). Added on March 11, 2012, 11:04 pmBTW, dafuq is this? QUOTE(lucidlts @ Mar 12 2012, 04:38 AM) was lurking at AG page just now, noticed that CM Quick Fire price dropped. Nope, as far as I remember, army group and inpad had always sell it at that price. red: 2790 TWD black/brown: 2490 TWD wish i was in taiwan :/ Not sure why but many of their items(mech kb) are 200TWD cheaper than global.pchome... BTW, thats still not the cheapest, the cheapest should be in US. When they had offer, they can go real cheap... Corsair k60 as low as 80USD. CM Storm Blue as low as 65USD. QUOTE(kaysa @ Mar 12 2012, 04:45 PM) Leopold's FC500RR's space bar are irreplaceable! (with keycaps from Filco, and the Steelseries, and the custom KBC's that I have anyway.) yup, it is a well known issue. the position of the "hole" are extremely weird~! luckily I didn't buy any set of keycaps for it yet...... are there any set of pbt keycaps that can match the design? http://geekhack.org/showthread.php?24177-L...r-a-closer-look you can try keycool colorful abs spacebar, it should fit. QUOTE(ZeneticX @ Mar 12 2012, 07:01 PM) Clear(translucent) ABS coated with black coating.Replacement should be close to zero. The best you can do is find those colorful abs keycaps that isn't really too suitable for BL. QUOTE(JohnDiew0107 @ Mar 12 2012, 05:20 PM) When free I will list out the compatibility/oddity of most modern board available in market now.QUOTE(kaysa @ Mar 12 2012, 05:58 PM) All I can do is to sand it after it become slippery? PBT spacebar is consider a rare stuff already. Even HHKB Pro2(a kb that cost over RM1000) having fullset PBT but still need/use ABS spacebar. Is there any official PBT replace Spacebar or a whole set PBT from Leopold themselves? As I stated earlier, you can go for those colorful spacebar from Keycool. Each one cost around RM5/6. Consider one spacebar can last at least 2months, you can get all the color(total of 8 including black and white) and change it as it worn. |

QUOTE(ZeneticX @ Mar 12 2012, 07:19 PM) those from ione or xarmor won't fit as well? If from Xarmor, then it probably will be fully compatible.btw is the quality concern regarding xarmor series as same as their parent ione ? But AFAIK, Xarmor don't sell their keycaps separately. Also, why do you want to change it if it is consider sucks as same... Come ppl claim that Xarmor is even more sucky than Razer BWU and Teroso Durandale. Quite funny that they made others' product better while self's suckier... This post has been edited by Human10: Mar 12 2012, 06:24 PM |

QUOTE(JohnDiew0107 @ Mar 12 2012, 05:20 PM) Leopold FC500R(fullsize): Oddity in term of the spacebar. Keycool's should be similar and compatible.Ducky: Quite normal and standardized like most other modern board. Just that the windowed keycaps can be hard to found sometimes. Filco: Should be the most common standard out there. Almost all aftermart keycaps should fit on it. Cherry: Too fragmentised. The most common issue found with their modern board(3xxx series, including the 3800) is the strange stem placement on "Caps lock". Also do note that Cherry keycaps are lower(shorter) than most modern brands(Ducky and Filco). It should not be too bothersome if you swap off fullset with same height. Razer/Xarmor/Other iOne board: The bottom row(Ctrl, Alt, Spacebar...) are using the less common layout, which made it hard to find replacement for the whole bottom row... SS7G/6GV2/Zowie Celeritas: The "big-ass" Enter, short backspace/right Shift are going to be the parts that made your life hard... Also, the spacebar is using a different standard with Filco and Ducky. Should be similar to the one find on Leopold FC200R(not too sure, need confirmation). Added on March 12, 2012, 6:36 pm QUOTE(ZeneticX @ Mar 12 2012, 07:34 PM) really? then that i'm not sure but i'm talking about the stealth edition instead of the normal BWU. the 6kro feature in the stealth is enough to make me think its something different from the normal BWU. but anyway they're still from ione.....jz hope they're from diff OEMs. The more features it offer, the higher the chance of the keyboard will go down... one think i like about all these gaming brands mech keyboard is the extra features they offer like the usb ports and audio ports, hope upcoming backlid kbs have these BTW, to verify the bolded statement. Any white rat want to open up a Stealth Razer BWU for comparison purpose? This post has been edited by Human10: Mar 12 2012, 06:38 PM |

QUOTE(soR @ Mar 12 2012, 07:48 PM) any keycaps that would last long for my 6gv2? i notice that my white lettering turning bit greyish how to preserve it? clean? tape it? 3 possible solution:1st: Change to otaku(blank with no printing keycaps), then it will had nothing to be worn out. 2nd: Ready to pay for the price of around another 6GV2 and go surf in GeekHack/Taobao for fullset dye-sub thick PBT/DS replacement keycaps. It should last forever. 3rd: Go dig in taobao for those engraved but non-printed/side printed keycaps. There will also be nothing to be worn out... Added on March 12, 2012, 6:55 pm QUOTE(noobandroid @ Mar 12 2012, 07:51 PM) 10xx series once are quite sucky, thus giving Ducky the Ducky Sucky reputation in GH... QUOTE(noobandroid @ Mar 12 2012, 07:58 PM) Not a owner, can't say too much bout it.Features wise it should be OK, with USB NKRO, multimedia keys, detachable wires and so on. There will also be nothing to be worn out... btw whats taobao ebay in US Mudah in Marehsia It's called worn out. You rub a thing everyday and it will eventually worn out(and become shiny). The solution to worn out are: 1. Sandpaper/blasting it after it worn 2. Using PBT keycaps as it is more worn resistant to ABS 3. Using Metal keycaps, it should probably took forever to worn out... QUOTE(ahbenchai @ Mar 12 2012, 11:30 PM) how come i see alps keyboard only go for rm160 when cherry is rm300 Its because the market for Cherry is larger(replacement keycaps, gaming mech keyboard and so on). Back in old day, it is the time when alps rule the world.r those 2 different mechanical keyboard? But now alps had already consider fallen and most alps switch nowadays are consider "fake" alps, unlike Cherry, still made by Cherry. This post has been edited by Human10: Mar 12 2012, 11:19 PM |

QUOTE(Bold9900 @ Mar 13 2012, 01:08 AM) TROLOL, none... If you visit those western website(wasd, elitekeyboard, keyboardco), each switch is going to be quite pricy, you might as well buy a new china brand keyboard and harvest the switch. If you visit to those taiwan webstore(inpad, armygroup), their switch are quite cheap, from 10TWD to 13TWD. The problem is that they normally don't do international shipping, LOL. If you visit China webstore, switch can be quite pricy(average of over 5RMB) too(and can't make sure if it is 1st hand/2nd hand). So any answer? |
