Hey guys,
I have earlier withdrawn some money from my EPF account for investment with Public Mutual.
If I wanted to move the money back into my EPF account, can I do that?

How do I do that?

And the monies returned to EPF will fall back into the original account 1?

Thanks.

call ur agent, tell him u want to repurchares. he will do it for u.
if u hv PMO. do it online.
or, go to nearest PM branch, goto customer service and tell them u want sell back ur units.

yes, all the money will go to acc 1.

why u want to move back? is it because epf declare 6%?

If you are below 55, it will automatically be credited back to EPF. Above 55 you will get it in cash when you sell the UT.

I would suggest if possible go and apply for the Public Mutual Online account at any nearby outlet .. at least you are able to monitor the progress yourself .. smile.gif

Hey guys, thanks for the replies. No lar.. not because of the 6% declared by EPF. But I was trying something else - Stock..

And learn that even EPF monies can be transferred out for stock investing. I know it's risky but life is short la. So, I think stock could be a better way.

Just be aware, amount U can take out is based on a % formula THUS:
eg.

If U have $100K in EPF A/C1
+ U sell all yr $500K Mutual Funds and put back into EPF
= $600K in EPF A/C1
BUT... U can take out only ($600K Less X) * 20%
for the 1st time, where X = amount U must keep in A/C1 based on yr age

i feel stock a bit too peak now.
I just switch my unit trust from PIEF->PCBF this morning.
Will reinvest in PGF or PAGF when economy turns bad later on.

PITTIKAL is good fund, but the problem is the fund will always drop if share drop.
so i prefer to hold it on bond fund again, and then re-invest at lowest point.

I have done it via PMO, just click on Transaction request>repurchase. Done. Money's back in EPF in less than a week.

To be fair, PMO has one of the best back-end support amongst all the fund houses.

umm, this is the other way round. Many people want to withdraw from EPF and invest to property or something. But kenny is just opposite of it, so special

Yes, they should pay the dividend base on the available amount in the EPF account. But not sure EPF will pro-rated the interest for those money just put back from Public Mutual.

Hi all Sifus,

Question. Example..i withdraw epf to public mutual..then later sell it, it wld go to epf account 1, regardless profit or loss. Sell 100k, goes back epf acct 1 100k. Will it split 30% to epf account 2?

Thx in advanced

hmm.gif googled and found this...
Q:
When I sell units that were purchased through my EPF Account 1, do I get a cheque for the proceeds?

A:
The proceeds will be credited directly to your EPF Account 1.

thx.. I also found this, but the epf officer told my friend that when the fund came back to epf, they will treat this as contribution and will split 70/30, whr 30% goes to acct 2.

So i am confused.

hmm.gif since you mentioned that it was from the mouth of the epf officer.......then who am I to question/challenge it.....unless I really need to find and confirm the answer which I think is incorrect.

anyway, if you are really confused and really wanted to get to the bottom of it...just go to EPF office to confirm or call them to ask......then tell us here ok...

thks
