I heard that the import cars are not heavily taxes anymore, only that car manufacturer never wanted to reduce price cause want to maintain high profit.

70k is good price no matter how shitty proton track record is. This is their chance to gain back the trust. If they fail with p3-21A, even malaysian will never buy proton anymore.

QUOTE(thexs @ Feb 22 2012, 08:42 AM) For proton to position their product is bit difficult than other company. Persona is a B segmet sized car, but price is below than B segment average.Like Inspira, the price is on skewed from B segment to C segment. P3-21A another unique segment for proton. They can never priced their car like other car manufacturer if based on the size and powertrain only. |

If P3-21A make a huge impact locally, other car manufacturer might be reducing their car price gradually.

Others have problem with sub par vendor parts and finishing.saga and persona is good car oso ohh. gain many positive review liao. car problem is mostly due to the service centre lor. somemore owner memang no check oso. The best service is honda. but dem expensive. huhue. QUOTE(beck_ken @ Feb 22 2012, 09:01 AM) If you added the 'tin milo' joke, it will be hilarious. Try again next time. |

Like the VW polo or Golf, they enjoy flat rate import duty 30% and local taxes 75% which is the lowest since their engine capacity is small.
Yet they sell their car high like bigger capacity engine which have 105% tax. |

QUOTE(ben_panced @ Feb 22 2012, 09:28 AM) they wanna rake in huge profit margin bro.. That is why. People blame proton for this. Not company who actually can lower their car price. Lot of misinformation about import duty.anyway vios only got taxed with 75% + 10% sales tax but they sell their vois J at 73k.. go figure.. |

QUOTE(NINJIAO @ Feb 22 2012, 09:31 AM) They have been doing this all this while because of they can sell high price and people eventually will still demand for import cars. Can blame proton lack of competitive with foreign car makers. That is why i said if P3-21A made an impact in local markets, foreign car maker will lower their car price. They have alot of margins to begin with. |

QUOTE(roommate @ Feb 22 2012, 09:51 AM) LOL, gov isn't that stupid in sucking their nations' money. Don't you forget they have a lots of crap tax? No. Our tax is high. And proton also kena that high tax same as import. Only 30 percent minus if CBU. If CKD, they only kena 10%. Im pointing out the margins of foreign car final pricing. They can easily lower their price, but they don't.And yes, I'm driving Proton coz I've no other choice. |

QUOTE(ju146 @ Feb 22 2012, 02:21 PM) Inspira stop producing? i guess not because i think they have spent quite alot of money to purchase Lancer copyright, don't think they have achieve their break even point yet... They didnt earn much on Inspira. Im pretty sure the lifecycle for Inspira is short. Inspira is the adhoc answer for Proton C segment, because P3-21A is not quite ready at the time. |

QUOTE(harryfoo @ Feb 22 2012, 05:03 PM) I dont think Lotus is a good investment. Proton give alot of money to Lotus but getting less in return.QUOTE(Ancient-XinG- @ Feb 22 2012, 05:08 PM) the new car is still a INSPIRA ? YES and Proton made collaboration. Future proton cars will be equipeed yes 4g as standard. They start with Inspira followed by P3-21A.I know i am slow. But this P3-21A is the 4G thing or new car actually == QUOTE(harryfoo @ Feb 22 2012, 05:09 PM) They no longer use that trademark anymore. Now it is Proton Ride & Handling. They confident enough to use 'Proton' trademark since it still good anyway. |
