Dear all,

I'm a new user having a tab 7.7 for the 1st time.

I am a newbie using andriod but managed to root my tab less than 1week after it landed
to my hands but i am now facing some hiccups and I hope some good samaritans here can
enlighten me pls.

1). How to hook my tab to my E90 (original built-in) system.

I've tried hooking it to my other car with a complete surround sound system c/w power amps, sub-woofers,
dvd player, bluetooth, etc but the sound produced is like sub-standard when using the blue tooth and when
direct input via RCA Aux the sound is slightly louder than whisper.

What should I do in order to enjoy a true sounding?

2). Trying to install google chat to the tab. ... which package should I DL; 32bit .deb/ 64 bit .deb /
32 bit .rpm or 64 bit .rpm ?

Thank you very much.

I think you confused between Android and real Linux... Android use apk as it installation file...

As for Google chat program try look for Google talk inside android market...

biggrin.gif isn't it better to buy a complete sound system for your car instead of bullying your tab? U afford a BMW don't tell me you can't afford fancy sound system

I think its not as simple as just paying for a new system.... the E90- 323i series sound system c/w all
sort of things that one can ever imagine including when to service the car and even will alert
the driver if any of the tyres is flat.

I've been warned by the BMW guys if ever meddle with the system .. the 1st thing will go berserk will
be its alarm and engine activation push start system and finally all hell will break loose.

Another reason is I hate the stupid dumb built-in navigation system and i can't watch my fav.
video clips while driving it.... that's why i would like to hook the tab to it.

The system inside my W210 is also the same.... hopelessly beyond acceptable when hooking the
tab to it.

One of my main reason getting the tab is I can watch my *.mkv and *.flv files inside my car
and I got sick of coverting the files to *.avi or others in order for me to watch and there is no
portable player yet in my KampungKUL to watch *.mkv files.

naa.. i believe he's got his music in the tab and probably using the eraphone jack to hardwire to his auxiliary input...
new beemers have an i-drive that makes it difficult to change players or add add/modify the sound system cos its slaved to the ecu, sat nav, etc..
a curse of modern car bus-systems..
but the earphone jack is not having enuf power so the sound out from his ice is rather soft..

try the beemer forums to see what they have to say about modding the i drive systems.. luck..
but by rights, the in car entertainment, ice, shud have its own amplifier to apm/boost the incoming signal...
try the head unit's settings to see if enabled...
here's where apple has an upper hand;
my ipod has a direct sound output from the ala 'universal' connector.. so the sound is by passes the ipod's sound enhancement.. straight from source..
its a 3rd party dongle that connects to the adapter..
(dont see it at any android manufacturer systems tho..)

then direct signal goes to where i want to plug in.. home amp, car head unit, etc..
when sound goes through the earphone jack, it has to go thru the players sound 'enhancement' ie, equalizer, spatial enhancer, etc.. then only it'll exit the earphone jack.. even if u turn off all enhancement, the signal is already distorted from going thru the circuitry..

then this enhanced/distorted sound goes to, lets say the car system, which has its own enhancer, ie, eq, bla bla..
what we end up with is sound from the car enhancing the enhanced sound from the music player...
still with me?
so its the car changing the sound that has already been changed.. so we end up with really weird sound or overly enhanced sound...

only certain players have what we called 'direct source' jack that bypasses the system to, lets say the amplifier and an external eq and or dac, digital/analog converter...
this is whats termed as clean signal..

o mi gosh... i've strayed from topic of tab 7.7..
much forgiveness is asked...

thank you very much for your info.. thumbup.gif

the beemers can hook to any ipod/iphone as it c/w that function and software inside the system...
even so silly nokia phones but not any samsung or andriod base phone. vmad.gif

Tried the BMW boys in Jalan Sg Besi.. cannot help out... one of the smart guy advise me to
get help from sifus in here as more IT intelligent than the beemers forum boys.

Thx bru.... u r spot on. rclxms.gif
