very tempted to get one but the price a bit dis-encouraging. Still deciding whether to get this or the Transformer Prime.

If the tab has a SD card slot and can connect a 500GB mobile hard disk to it - then definitely i will seal the deal. btw, is there a SD to microSD card adaptor so that i can plug a SD card into a microSD card slot? thanks.

yes, the shortage of Transformer Prime during the launch is annoying. It happened for the first gen and now it happen again, a total turn-off.

maybe i will wait another 1-2 months for the Tab 7.7 to get its ICS update and maybe the price will drop a little bit by then too.

wow.. din know got such data "plan" available. Will seriously consider it if i get my Tab 7.7. Need to feel one in hand first before deciding to get it or the Transfomer Prime. But 7.7 form factor really nice fit in smaller hand bag (so that can tumpang in my wife's hand bag...lol...)

bump into this lovely tab 7.7 in the shopping complex just now while out for dinner. Create a hotspot at my Note and tether the tab to it so i can try out the browser. The Tab 7.7 really feel silky smooth. The display also as good as my Note if not better. Really like the form factor, not too small and not too big too, about double the size of my Note.

The last consideration is the price - was quoted RM2,099 with 2 years warranty, not a single sen discount. Quite steep compared to Ipad and other 10.1" android tablet.

yes, good point. Not in a hurry to get it, will wait and see how after Ipad 3 is launched.

becoz i mention to that promoter that can get RM1,950 online. Then he said their set come with 2 years warranty while the RM1,950 most probably come with 1 year warranty only. So i answer "oh..... maybe lor....."...lol...

so SEP and SME come with only 1 year warranty for whole malaysia?

is there a wifi only version? i thought only got 3G version, no? If wifi only version is RM1,500 or less, no need think, just buy.

My wife will think i m crazy with that tab on my ear. Note's size is my limit as a phone. 7.7" is not pocketable any more. Have a chance to put Nexus side by side with my Note yesterday, the Note just drawf Nexus. Din know my Note is so big.

yes, the Note fit just nice in my office pant @work and bermuda @leisure. Can't really fit the Tab 7.7 in either of it - so a definitely no no as my phone. Will be getting it purely as tablet.

zzz.... why AP? hopefully Samsung will bring in the wifi only version at cheaper price. Or I may just grab one from Singapore if Samsung Singapore has it.

EDIT: Just checked Singapore pricing - it is only SGD754 (about 1,850) now and the prices are dropping like fry. Heard the price will drop further when Ipad 3 is out. So hang on to my wallet at the moment and wait for it to drop to SGD600.

Some questions to those lucky ones who has Tab 7.7 in their hands:

With a connector like below, can the Tab:
1. connect to an external hard disk? The hard disk is self powered - 500GB.
2. If the 500GB HDD capacity can be recognised by the Tab, can files from SD Card be copied directly to the external hard disk when both are connected at the same time to the connector?

thanks, benny, for the confirmation. How about the HDD size, any limitation that it cannot exceed certain size? It might be the dream setup for me for a DSLR storage backup.

I wish my Note have such connector and can do that but using OTG cable, can only read thumb drive up to 32GB in FAT32. I tried to plug in my powered 120GB external hdd in FAT32 format but Note can't detect it. Of course can use the NTFS hack but quite troublesome and i scare it might corrupt the files during transfer.

just to double confirm - this Tab can connect via the USB adaptor to a portable hard disk of large size, eg. 500GB (not limiting to 32Gb or something)?

so as long as i have a independent powered drive, then should not be a problem, right? For example, those external 3.5" portable hard disk which normally come with a power adaptor itself.

yalor, so many our old DHD gang now scatter around - i think quite many jump ship to Samsung. Notice a few go the Note way like me, few goes for Nexus. Btw, sold my DHD to my brother. So i still get to play with it (eg. flash ICS ROM) once in a while. So many android device to play with, all my current and previous toys - my wife's HTC Desire, my brother's Desire HD and my Note.

and i will join you guys in this thread as owner soooon as well....... most likely will get one just before my overseas trip early April. Hopefully by then the price will drop to below RM1,500 or even more in Singapore.

yes, more or less what i am thinking to setup. I am thinking of getting the USB adaptor and plug a USB hub to it. Then connect a SDHC card reader and mobile hard disk (powered independently, not from the USB hub). Then just using File Explorer in the Tab to transfer the RAW files from SD card to mobile hard disk.

On second thought, since SD card prices is dropping fast, getting another 32GB SDHC Card (which can shoot slightly more than 1,000 RAW photos on my Canon 60D) might make more sense and straight forward. But of course bringing a 7.7 Tab along will make the time spent at the airport and in the plane more enjoyable.

still very buggy - camera cannot be used although stated at the XDA thread cam is working, wasted the DHD nice camera.

eh.... dun cut queue, we Note users should get first lah.
