what about direct use the usb cable? Its faster and better. If want to sync, choose sync and connect. If want to copy files, choose mass storage mode.

Ya,can transfer contacts using Bluetooth. Nokia symbian phones to n9 is no prob.

1) I haven't found a way to import favourites on N9.

2) They are all in a folder called Contacts in your MyDocs folder.

why would you come for n9 only for the nitdroid? if only for that, why not you go get an andriod phone?

Previously did that GPS method worked? I think you need to turn off the online search from setting before entering coordinates. Didn't see a reason for it to work such way but probably it is a bug which is fixed by now (last tried few months back).

N9 last because the moment you connect to internet, it will update feeds; Perhaps can set to manual.

In Settings --> Notification --> Feeds on home screen, got automatic updates, you can switch it off.
You will notice there got other notifications services, which I believe will run when you connect.

IN Settings --> Applications, there also got feeds, you can also customize there.

Not sure got any other service.

For Chat, by default it will auto-connect. In Maemo5, we can disable the service since it doesn't have feeds and notification feature. In MeeGo, the Chat and other services is under 1 account, so if you disable, it will disable those services also. However, you can disable the Chat under that account.

at your N8, with all favorites available, switch to your from 1st nokia account to 2nd nokia account, perform sync, and perform sync (using 2nd nokia account) on N9.

I'm not having the problems you are experiencing in Maps. It is stable and smooth. I don't find any super lag when selecting favourites. Downloading big map data doesn't crash it. It could be a damaged installation as what you are experiencing is not normal.

Less than 10 favourites. Do you really need to keep that many favourites on your list? Those you seldom use can be searched on the spot and used as a destination without keeping as a favourite.

I suppose the designer of the system didn't expect so many favourites to be stored. You can't call them mere numbers as you don't know what storing a favourite actually involves. It is a lousy system if he has set the limit too low for the average user. He cannot cater for extreme users as it would gobble up too much resources. Comparing with N8 may not be fair as they are 2 different os with different requirements.

I'm not saying storing 150 favourites is extreme as I have no idea how many other users store but this is not a common complaint in this forum or other N9 forums. Work with the system instead of fighting against it. Ask yourself if you really need to store so many favourites. The essence of favourites is to keep a few you use frequently for fast access. How do you select quickly from a list of 150 destinations even if there is no lag?
