what he means is ... coz prius C dun use mechanical PUMP .. use electrical pump .. when battery die .. the battery cannot power the electrical pump it will over heat.... but toyota also not stupid geh ...


let use our car for example..
once u start the car..
the engine move the alternator to generate electricity to charge the 12v battery .. the power here use to power the spark plug as well .. same goes to the electric power steering ...


for HYBRID .. same.. they require a generator to generate back the power .. if ur battery die.. if u jump start it .. the ecu knows ur battery low.. it will power up the motor .. the motor will move the alternator to generate power .. it will feed to the plugs and water pump as well .. so it works just like a normal car as well ..

same case.. if u start ur car d .. u remove ur battery .. ur car still can move.. why ?? the alternator is providing the power ... the battery dies means it CANNOT store the charge.. not cannot generate charge.. if u able to gen charge.. the charge can power the electric pump ..

Haha...i heard honda CVT got a lot of issues lah lol. I drove the EPS for elantra and myvi...dangerous when going on highway in high speed...flick a bit the car turn a lot liao...feel like driving a loose daytona cab @@.

actually both insects and prius runs called parrallel hybrid ..

it dun need to run the motor .. the gearbox is smart enuf to take power from either..

but when battery die .. the engine will run like a normal car... (heavier of coz .. coz need to carry the electric motor as well)

ur smart cousin tot without the battery .. all electric stuff wont power

prius will be a better choice becoz the electric motor is more powderful .. so it is able to fully switch off the engine and use electric motor to run the car at low speed.. while IMA is assist only.. cannot fully poweroff .. electric motor alone is not sufficeint to move the car
