i believe there sure is having a charging mechanisem in the car .. something like alternator..

concept same like our car..
ur car battery die jo .. u manage to start it up .. the alternator will generate power for ur spark plug even if ur battery is dead..

prius c uses electrical water pump .. even thou the battery died . the power generator will be able to generate power for the car to run .. the battery dead does not means it is DISCONNECTED .. its just CANT store battery .. the charging part will still be able to provide the power to do the minimal thing ..

if that is the case hor... all NEW MYVI and many new car also died... POWER STEERING Electric geh ....

what he means is ... coz prius C dun use mechanical PUMP .. use electrical pump .. when battery die .. the battery cannot power the electrical pump it will over heat.... but toyota also not stupid geh ...
let use our car for example..
once u start the car..
the engine move the alternator to generate electricity to charge the 12v battery .. the power here use to power the spark plug as well .. same goes to the electric power steering ...
for HYBRID .. same.. they require a generator to generate back the power .. if ur battery die.. if u jump start it .. the ecu knows ur battery low.. it will power up the motor .. the motor will move the alternator to generate power .. it will feed to the plugs and water pump as well .. so it works just like a normal car as well ..

same case.. if u start ur car d .. u remove ur battery .. ur car still can move.. why ?? the alternator is providing the power ... the battery dies means it CANNOT store the charge.. not cannot generate charge.. if u able to gen charge.. the charge can power the electric pump ..

yup.. he is correct! 

Alternator is providing the power to the whole vehicle/engine system. Battery provides power during startup and when the power consumption is more than the alternator can handle. When disconnect battery the vehicle can still move but altenator will have to work more.

hailat system SAME 1 ... all basic thing power by the 12v battery ... dun think too far.. manufacturer not stupid ..

the haibit seperate battery is 144v ... u want it to power ur HU meh ? hahaha .. the other battery is just to power the electric motor ... nothing else..
the main system still power by the humble 12v and alternator..

For me I rather have high fuel price and lower car prices. But that's for me la. Coz even for our inspira were paying almost 20k in taxes for the 2.0

Depends on individual... If you don't travel much, petrol, toll, parking won't matter too much compared to car price. If you are a sales person travelling a lot, you will feel the petrol, etc comsumable pain, eventually works out to be quite a substantial amount. This is why Msia always jam... ppl make full use of their cars even if walking distance to sundry shop; paid so much for car, use  lor (else keep at home display meh?), and petrol 'cheaper' + crime rate high (likely kena snatch thief when walking).
