My Asus A53sv can go up to 90 degree without any extra cooling when the laptop started to utilize the nvidia gpu, is that normal?

Btw, thinking of upgrading my ram to 8gb (currently 4gb), here's some question I'm curious to know

1. Will upgrading RAM affects/void the warranty?
2. How to choose the RAM type (for Asus A53SV)?

Probably at the end of the month.
Yes, that's normal if the GPU kicks in.

1. Will not void.
2. It will be using DDR3-1066 so just get back a compatible RAM brand with equal or faster clocks. Usually the same one would be best but if not, get Kingston.

Ok, thanks alex for that, now..finding affordable rams..

Virtually no difference at all. It's identical in terms of voltage and speed and timings. All voltage is the same at 1.5v except for the low voltage ones which I've only seen in the Crucial RAM which is not even available here.

If you get the high performance ones like the Corsair Vengeance or Kingston HyperX, then there would be something a bit more noticeable but it's more expensive. But in most cases, larger memory size > memory speed.

Ok, noted. Thanks!

Edit: Alex, the ram is SODIMM right?

Guys, I uninstalled my bluetooth suite and driver, now the bluetooth appears to be an unknown device.

Now I can't find Atheros bluetooth suite for my notebook, and Intel's bluetooth driver doesn't seems to work also (having problem on installing and uninstalling the driver, which the installer will rollback the installation).

Where can I get back the Atheros bluetooth suite installer?

Edit: Ok, found the installer, case closed.

Not sure if this is a suitable place to ask for help, but when I'm trying to uninstall Intel ProSet/Wireless for Bluetooth driver, this error occur, any idea how to get rid of this?

Your idle temperature quite high. Clean up your laptop as usual and apply thermal paste.
Here my current idle temperature. 4 months old Asus A55VD.

Yeah, I just found it's high, when on heavy load, cpu temp goes up to 96, while gpu goes up to 86..

Btw, anyone here know how to open up Asus A53SV to clean up the heatsink and apply new thermal paste? I tried opened the back and front, even the keyboard, yet I can't reach the motherboard. sweat.gif

Edit: I took my laptop to shop to clean it, the technician said my laptop has little dust on it and the thermal paste is still usable..but the temp doesn't decrease after cleaning the dust out.

He then recommended me to modify the fan to spin at high speed even when on low usage. I told him that I don't want the loud sound, and the battery usage will end fast. So, is it good for laptop fan to spin at constant high speed?

low temp is always gud for computers as long it's still within the functional temp range.

Ok, thanks for your input. I'll let me laptop run for another half year and see if it need to be tweaked. Currently normal usage is still alright, as long I'm not running heavy games or programmes.

I rather install A.C in my home  than that.

But I'm outstation, living in a shared house. No A.C. so nothing much I can do..

Investing an A.C. is good if I'm using desktop.
