Genting.

However, I wonder if there is difference between a built-up area and those which is more rural.

Cameron.
Genting is too high, sometimes you'll get bits of cloud hitting your face when you drive a convertible.

Which one u seek in ur trip? Genting more fast pace + mor action + judi , Cameron slow pace + mor relax + tea, both got its pro n cons. Temperature wise, Genting colder, but both now much hotter than it was 10 yrs ago.

You should ask which one has more challenging roads to drive.

Genting Highland is only one and located on the summit of 1800M high mountain. (Avg Day Temp 19 (Rain)-24C (Hot) and sometime dropped to 15C during windy raining night)

CH is a wide areas with many towns starting from Ringlet (~1100M), Habu (~1200M), Tanah Rata ~(1450M), Brinchang~1500M, Kea farm -Equatorial ~1600M , Tringkap ~1400M, Kuala Terla ~ 1200M & Blue Valley/Kg Raja ~1200M

So it's really depending on where is the locations of those tourist ~ CH.. If he is at Habu (Bharat tea plantation area)/Kg Raja or even Kuala Terla (Another Bharat new tea house)..for sure the weather will not be as cool as Brinchang/Tanah Rata or even the highest town in Kea farm. Brinchang, Tanah Rata & Kea Farm having temp almost similar to Genting from my experience..avg daily from 19C-24C.. But for those stopping by at both Bharat Tea plantation for a cup of tea will be complaining for sure bcos of lower altittude

CH weather really depending on right timing..so do Genting. My 1st time there was also ~ late 80/early 90s. That time. not so cool & worse than Genting, I was cursing. 2nd trip yrs later cooler and ~ 3 yrs ago, I hit jackpot when temp dropped to 13C on one windy night haha. My recent trip not so cool again..so really depending wan.

Genting. Try drinking ice blended Java Chip wearing only T-shirt and shorts with slippers at 2AM in the morning. Hyperthermia la. Tried the same at Cameron, no effect also.

Ini baru je ice blended. Try go up Cameron with bike and then raining half way...at 7 AM. You sure got effect and become ice.

Anyway, it is a matter of time of which month you are at. Cameron throughout whole year is not always icing cold same as Genting unless you are at the peak of Mt Kinabalu.
