QUOTE(Koki @ Mar 1 2012, 12:10 AM) Here's the 2 universal "stand" I found long ago thanks for many docking station sharing. I hope there is universal docking design like Motorola Atrix HD Dock. it's come with 3 USB port at the back, hdmi out, sync with pc and charging as well. this is perfect !!!Not sure if it's still available though » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Not exactly a stand.... The second one is something that I'd really love to find. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Just the way it stands, nothing else Found more! http://www.alibaba.com/product-gs/50768836...hone_Stand.html http://www.mobilefun.co.uk/spider-podium-u...lack-p25528.htm http://www.ebay.com/itm/Mini-Universal-Mob...#ht_1954wt_1270 These are my favourites now http://www.ebay.com/itm/Universal-Phone-GP...#ht_1690wt_1037 http://www.ebay.com/itm/Universal-Aluminum...#ht_3925wt_1270 http://www.ebay.com/itm/Universal-S-Shape-...#ht_1924wt_1037 <-- best Not sure if this one will hurt your USB or not... http://www.ebay.com/itm/Universal-Black-De...#ht_1834wt_1270 if really failed to get 1 but just left holder without wiring option, then maybe we can just DIY 1 our-self.... |

QUOTE(droid13579 @ Mar 1 2012, 10:09 AM) I don't think so, for next or future Nexus, Google won't bring back microSD slot support.QUOTE(sebastianX11 @ Mar 1 2012, 11:57 AM) i like HTC build but not their design I like HTC material build quality. design wise just acceptable, not until "wao" level of surprise new design yet.i thought the micro sd design is Google's decision instead of Samsung Yes, entire Nexus Phone from both software and hardware, Google are the 1 suppose the decision maker, not the manufacturer. I wonder why Google didn't consider to add HDMI out entertainment center UI in vanilla? like Motorola & Sony did.... Second is Webtop from Motorola, now ubuntu also copy this fusion idea + entertainment mode as well. hope to see it's happen in next Android 5.0 JellyBean. |

QUOTE(Koki @ Mar 1 2012, 01:11 PM) Eh bros, do you guys charge your phone entry time or just when it's fully drained? Because if you get a stock like how djlah describes, then you'll be charging at any time you're at you desktop no? for my practice, I didn't wait until it's fully drained then only charge. if you have concern about this, how about you just dock it but switch off charger? |

QUOTE(XeactorZ @ Mar 1 2012, 01:33 PM) +1, so that can save money to buy the MHL cable no, you get me wrong. I'm fine with MHL but I meant the software, the Entertainment mode UI.and should free the hdmi cable if the phone got hdmi port ~.~ for GNex, when you connect HDMI, just rotate to landscape with clone mode to LCD TV/Monitor. if you play with Atrix or see the new Sony demo, there will see special Entertainment mode UI output on LCD TV/Monitor but not the clone home screen; plus the phone screen will turn into remote control UI; see the video if not understand: |

QUOTE(XeactorZ @ Mar 1 2012, 05:35 PM) o.O that the things you mean I hope next Android 5.0 can design to have these option when we connect hdmi, 1) Entertainment mode, 2)Full Desktop mode, 3)Clone mode 4)Do Nothing. then this is perfect not like when laptop connect to tv, show the whole screen inside the tv @@ and is cool, the phone turn into a control, lol but both of them I also like, lol can play games, surf internet and others when connect with tv, so nice @@ ya but need to buy MHL but using the MHL is good also, because use straight plug the hdmi cable to it with the device that support hdmi example monitor, tv and laptop @@ I will say MHL will be good trending for all vendor instead of having both ports (USB+HDMI), this is saving space of phone, so that manufacturer can design slimmer phone or larger battery. rumor said apple will also reduce the 30-pin connector to smaller 1. |

QUOTE(XeactorZ @ Mar 1 2012, 06:16 PM) ya hope too >< meant duplicate la, watever you see in phone screen also display on LCD TV/Monitor.the 4mode all i know, except clone mode @@ what is that ??? ya MHL totally good, save space slimmer phone is okay, but don't too slim @@ for larger battery is must, at least like droid razr maxx 3k+ mAh then will be perfect already Yes, like S2 thinness is already perfect. no need to go further like Huawei. |

Hi everyone, I had tested ad hoc connection btw GNex direct to my my laptop. no problem, as long as you're in Windows 7, which is build in with virtual router or host the connection via laptop wifi card. My GNex can detect my laptop and manage to connect successfully, IP address are correct. right now still in office which is behind proxy, I cant test the Internet connection, will try when back to home (I believe it should work too). I also tested my WiFi File Explorer, working perfectly. another way plus for me to transfer file via WiFi without router. that's great. @TS seem like this is common repeated ask questions, I suggest to pinned on 1st page to benefits others. I'm ok if you think it's not necessary. 1. WiFi-direct ? from V5, Post #1844 2. Wireless ad-hoc network? that's 2 ways, refer link here. |

QUOTE(Andrew Lim @ Mar 2 2012, 11:48 AM) This may be a stupid question, I tried to Google it, but still not 100% sure. Does the Galaxy Nexus support Bluetooth File Transfer by default? Is an app required to transfer files from say, a Galaxy Nexus to a Mac/PC and vice versa? file transfer via Bluetooth tested. working fine on either GNex to other phone and vice versa; also to PC and vice versa. no Mac to test. all working as per normalNote: Not a Galaxy Nexus owner. QUOTE(Harddisk @ Mar 2 2012, 12:04 PM) That's Wifi Direct for DLNA usage. I want file transfer like using BT to transfer file, instead it uses the Wifi interface. Much much much more faster. although BT file transfer option available, but if you have WiFi File Explorer PRO app installed, is much more advanced and a lot of faster via WiFi interface to PC/Notebook. but BT still is good option for file transfer on phone to phone. This post has been edited by djlah: Mar 2 2012, 12:29 PM |

QUOTE(Harddisk @ Mar 2 2012, 12:41 PM) Bro, I meant the peer-to-peer wifi file transfer, phone to phone. never heard it can work in this way. in WiFi design, must have 1 to host for other client to join. let's search if there is android app can do so. Seems like Wifi direct on ICS is crippled. is anyone here test using USB OTG cable to link 2 phone? will this work to transfer file via cable directly? |

QUOTE(Harddisk @ Mar 2 2012, 01:30 PM) Bro, you can try this out with S2 to S2. I also have this question why GNex is missing configure option to host. do you have S2? maybe you can try activate S2 as host then GNex connect it?They just peer like BT, don't even need to worry about wifi key. Will auto connect. |

QUOTE(Fallenangelz @ Mar 2 2012, 02:06 PM) tried it with my GalNex and GalNote few versions of thread back, the result is negative. impossible to do so. can search, can identify the device, but unable to connect. i dunwan DLNA, i jz wanna pair up my devices to transfer movies or songs. and i dun think pairing for game will work too. nvr tried yet though thanks for sharing for GNex-GalNote. O/T: you get back your GNex?apparently GNex Wifi-direct is missing app or function to get it work; only enable and disable, not make sense. S2 user should understand this. we have to search for 3rd party app to get it work, else hopefully there is developers looking for this and build this in their custom rom. |

QUOTE(Harddisk @ Mar 2 2012, 03:46 PM) Doesn't work that well and Wifi Direct keeps going off by itself. At least my SGS can connect to GNex. My GTab terus hang. lol I think they should stole the implementation in S2, copy bulat bulat. lol. Oh ya, gallery still doesn't have the Share ... Wifi Direct option (I thought I saw this in 4.0.1). Added on March 2, 2012, 3:49 pm You tried once, you'll love it. Pull you further away from iApple. lol QUOTE(jpaq @ Mar 2 2012, 05:16 PM) Tried the WiFi Direct app installed on Gnex and tried connecting GTab 10.1. thanks for both feedbacks, the demo app is still not fully functional. anyone had found similar app to share?Round 1: The two fellas can see each other. Then ask them to say "Hi" to each other. They said "Hi". Then asked them to shake hands. They did. Connection success! Yay! But after shaking hands, they don't want to talk to each other. Can't do anything even if there was connection. In the app, it says my GNex is the client and I should select a file from local storage. A little above that, there is a "Launch Gallery" button. So I clicked that, Gallery launches and I select a photo. Gallery goes away and I am back at the Wifi Direct app. Nothing else happened. Nada. Zilch. Ilek. Boo! Round 2: Again can see each other. Again said "Hi". But this time, refused to even shake hands with each again. No connection. Boo! Thereafter, all other attempts same results. Round Whatever: So tried switching off Wifi Direct on all devices and switching on again. Bam! My GNex self-reboot! Tak boleh pakai....... |
