Listiani,

Would like to get your opinion on renting a car or hiring a driver in Jeju.
Understand that renting a car would have more freedom but foresee some hassle with parking, returning the car when we are leaving Jeju.
Cost-wise, I believe the difference is not very significant.

We have made reservation with HK Jeju (read through V1, V2 & V3 but didn't come across anyone mentioning them), however we are now having second thought because we have issues sharing toilet with strangers cry.gif . There are three of us travelling together.

I'm wondering these types of Zara jacket enough to keep me warm for my coming Korea trip during mid November.

http://www.zara.com/webapp/wcs/stores/serv.../269231/Jackets

The average forecast temperature for mid November will be 5 – 15 degree Celsius (°C).
I really don’t like those winter wears from universal traveller.

Do we really need a thick down jacket for 15-5 degree celsius?
Cant imagine how weird when i m wearing thick down jacket walking in Seoul city while the locals are wearing light jacket.
*
Each individual has different tolerance towards the cold.
Maybe you can head down to Uniqlo to try their Ultra Light Down Jacket, it's lightweight and not thick. I think it should suffice.

Did you manage to snap some pictures?

Please wear sunscreen and hat if you're heading to Jeju. I got sunburnt and headache because of the combination of sunny and windy weather.

Arrive at Jeju International Airport, go to gate 2 look for KT Kumho counter, they will look at your booking and international driving license, then will direct you to gate 5 for their pick up bus to the car collection area. I think only credit card is acceptable.

why they dont accept cash  hmm.gif

Extra charges? I think subject to exchange rate since our billing is in MYR. Not sure why they don't accept cash, we did ask but they replied strictly credit card only.

Click HERE to read more about Alive Museum. I was told that this place has more things to see.

We were there for 2 hours plus, if it wasn't for my splitting headache we would have stayed longer. Go in daytime if you're interested, we missed the outdoor scuplture park because it was all dark.

It's not far from to the Teddy Bear Museum in Jeju, plan your schedule wisely (and be less ambitious sweat.gif) because we didn't cover alot of attraction as we'd hoped. My personal suggestion is to visit those natural sceneries first then a couple of museum.

how many days u in jeju?? i heard there is 2 trick eye museum in jeju. so it's alive museum is the same as the trick eye museum (greek mythology) or it's 2 different one?

is both their location actually is in the same area? kinda confuse..  rclxub.gif

search on9 bt nt much info about that. jz found out that both oso near teddy bear museum  sweat.gif

any1 can clarify? thx
*
I was there for 3D2N, the sky gets dark quickly during Autumn/Winter.
Alive Museum is very near to Teddy Bear Museum (near Jungmun area), Trick Art Museum is not the same as Alive Museum but they share similarity (and is situated in Southeast Jeju). Please google the map. I think probably takes 45 minutes~1 hour from one to another (estimation).

There's not much information on the internet probably because it's still new. You can get the pamphlet in Jeju Airport (I got mine there).

When are you going?

i search on9 n gt their website.. although both website url is different bt both point to the same site?? tat's y i wonder it's the same

http://www.trickart.co.kr/main.php
www.alivemuseum.co.kr

i will be goin on apr 2013 (spring season)

These are the address I googled.

Alive Museum
2629 Saekdal-dong, Seogwipo-si, Jeju-do, Korea

Trick Art Museum
2381 Seongeup-ri, Pyoseon-myeon, Seogwipo-si, Jeju-do, South Korea

Teddy Bear Museum
2889 Saekdal-dong Seogwipo-si, Jeju-do, South Korea

Now key those addresses to Google map to roughly get the idea of where they are located.
They are not the same or next to each other.

thanks alot.. all museum is located quite near since it's in Seogwipo region. oh btw, do u know bout the Greek Mythology Museum?? it's located nearby?
*
Believe me it's not that near, and quite time consuming from getting one place to another.
I don't know where is the Greek Mythology Museum.
You have plenty of time to do planning, don't worry, just work out what you want to do/see the most.

We rented a car (got my advice from Listiani) because we don't like to do hit-and-run, so we spent a few good hours in each place (also because my sister wants to take pictures ohmy.gif )

Will try to post some photos shortly.

ic.. it's convenient for u to drive around? gt lost? tongue.gif u r using their gps navigation or manual map?

u mention 3D2N.. so the last day u straight away return the rented car early in the morning or evening? cz as i kno if rented car in jeju.. no matter hw many hrs u use.. they counted as 24 hrs usage. r u available to cover all jeju or only some important places?

waiting for ur pics as well  laugh.gif

To answer your question, they have GPS navigation in English. It's relatively easy to use and we didn't get lost, not even once biggrin.gif. Drive slow, drive safe, drive leisurely and enjoy the magnificent scenery Jeju has got to offer.
I don't know what is their formula, we picked up the car at 1:40pm and returned it at 6:30pm (flight at 8:50pm).

This is rather long so I will use spoiler instead.

u only mention glass museum nt worth to go.. so is there any places beside tis?
wow itinerary oso quite tight.. jz like mine i think.. ahha
btw, from gimpo airport (where u took ur rented car) to the TGG it's far?
can we pull over to snap any pic at the road's forest tunnel?
*
There are plenty of museums as attractions in Jeju really, we drove past many!! I am not very into these kinds of museums because it's not anything showcasing the past or anything. If we have more time we would try other oreums (sp?!) and olle trails.

You take the plane from Gimpo Airport, Seoul to Jeju International Airport then from there go to the car rental company in the arrival hall, they will ask to look at your passport and international license, then you will get instruction from them. The pick-up place is just a stone throw away from the airport.

No idea whether you can pull over to snap pictures since it was raining and if I remember correctly it was a one-lane road.

How many days will you be in Jeju? Where you want to visit? Is it too cramp for too many attractions?

will be in Jeju for 3D2N as well.. i plan to visit some attractions n the 3D museum (nt sure yet wanna choose the one in hongdae or jeju)

jeju is consider quite big n i'm afraid if travel from one place to another definitely take some times.. cz there r few selected attractions tat i choose is jumping from tis place to another.. lolz.. jz like hopping round d island tongue.gif

Gimpo Airport is in Seoul leh.

From Jeju International Airport to TGG guesthouse is around 1 hour give or take.
We had 1 day in Seoul before flying into Jeju, and 6 more days in Seoul after Jeju. Didn't manage much in that 6 days, we slept in/took our time.

wah  shocking.gif  1 hr away? tat is nt near..

Yes.
So when we have 3D2N, it only translated to 2 full days. What we did was 1 day southeast, another day southwest. Would have planned differently if given a chance but still somewhat satisfied with our trip.
