u mention u n ur family.. it's all young adults or mixture of kids, young adults n senior adults? well, my sis (young adult) went to Korea last yr during xmas time.. she told me tat sometimes it's unbearable n quite troublesome especially whn u wanna take pics. really freezing n u don't feel like wanna stay outdoor n take pic. imagine taking pic wif bulky gloves kekeke.. she need to took off her gloves whenever she wanna take pic. u haf to wear winter clothes, covering ur ears n mouth, etc.. bt anyway, she did enjoy the whole trip cz it's her first time experience winter. quite excited. imho, if u r afraid of cold, better go during autumn or spring season.. during winter, some attractions is close

ic. so i assume ur parents shouldn't be a prob as well..

i remembered my sis told me n i read b4 on website stated tat some attractions is either closed early or closed. u need to search for more info.. sorry can't help.. cz never been to korea during winter.. haha

It will be winter so if you like the cold then it is recommended. I am going as well from the 19th till the 24th However please know that that period is considered somewhat a high season so make your bookings early (esp if you are not taking a tour) and the prices of hotels are higher during Christmas week.

Temperature can be anywhere between 5 to -10 degrees but it is definitely colder in January. I was there in January two years ago and it went to -20 on one of the nights. The cold is not too bad, its the winds that are a killer. Other than that, I enjoyed visiting Korea in the winter...nice change to the Malaysian hot weather.

I stayed in Namsan Guesthouse in Seoul & 02 nites in Jeju Hiking Inn. I went for Nami Island & Suwon day trip. Beside Jeju, the rest of the stay was in Seoul.

that's if you know exactly where the money changer is.. otherwise it will be quite a waste of time to go out and find one when the time could be used for travelling... honestly you don't lose much if you are changing less than rm5000..

Not really. If you're sure about your budget, just change everything to KRW in Msia.

You are not allowed to go there by yourself. You must join the tour. An SIC tour.  The tour cost KRW46,00 per pax and they will pick u up from the guesthouse. I book via internet and update them my room number & Korea hp number when I arrived in Seoul. They call the guesthouse and look for to me when they change the pick up time.

Also, you can book with the guesthouse directly. No problem also. You MUST bring your passport. No passport, no entry. Don't wear too revealing clothes. Wear something decent. Jeans and t-shirt are ok.

do you prefer jeju city or seogwipo area ?

Jeju city is somewhere very near from airport, there is plenty of stay you can go such as yeha guesthouse and etc..
but i prefer seogwipo because more attraction we wanted to go compare to jeju city..

Feliz Talcon is cheap total for 3D2N only KRW 220,000 for 5pax...
