Do you remember which part of Dongdaemun Bro??

Oh, yes. Unker stimix mentioned Hana Bank. OK, now I remember. tongue.gif

QUOTE(MilesAndMore @ Dec 15 2012, 02:27 AM)
There is one money changer in Dongdaemun that buys MYR and the exchange rate is the same as those money changers in Malaysia.
Not Woori Bank. Woori Bank doesn't buy MYR unfortunately. I went to one of their branches in Gangnam last year and was told they do not buy MYR in cash.

Anyway, the banks that buy MYR (cash) are Hana Bank, Shinhan Bank and KEB. KEB usually is very expensive. Hana Bank's exchange rate is good only if you can provide them a recent Asiana Airlines boarding pass.

Once you got your IPL from JPJ, all the information are inside the small IPL booklet. My IPL is at home and I am at the office right now. Otherwise I can post it here.

Hi guys, wanna ask a quick question here.

For our malaysia international driving license, what is the max passenger vehicle that we legally approved to drive in Korea/Jeju?

Try to find the info in JPJ website but no info given
*

Added on December 20, 2012, 10:13 pmI am looking at my IPL right now. (still valid until 22/3/13). No type of vehicle mentioned. Below are the caption:

"Motor vehicles used for the transport of passengers and comprising in addition to the driver's seat, at most eight seats or those used for the transport of goods and which permissible maximum not exceeding 3,500kg (7,700 lbs). Vehicle in this category may be coupled with a light trailer. "

From my understanding, it could be from normal car to van and 4 wheel drive.

Yeah, I called them but they couldn't speak English. So I sent fax to them. Quote my reservation number & put it in bold and capital letter asked them to call me to assist me with the booking. The next day,1 girl from Eastar Jet called me and spoke fluent English. The fax number that I use is 02-2554-7470. I forgot what is the country code for Korea. You can chk with TM for the country code.

QUOTE(wyen @ Dec 24 2012, 10:13 PM)

No need to go with agent. They will bring you to the unnessary shop like ginseng, gem, silk with sky high price. The same similar items you can get outside with cheaper price.

I went to Seoul & Jeju Island with my sisters and everything went well. No problem at all. Their transporation system are so efficient that you don't need travel agent to bring you there.

QUOTE(pekkauwer @ Jan 3 2013, 07:03 PM)
Ah i ask because got one travel agency with cheap price RM2499 and thinking to know route 1st, so ill know if i lalu sana atau tak. Hehe sorry uncle stimix.... btw is that ok price? Lol....

June is summer & most hostel will have summer sucharge. Summer consider peak season. RM2500 is for food, accommodation, souvenir & entrance fee is enough. If you want to save some money, you can bring canned food like we did. At least you don't have to eat out every nite. You can just buy instant rice from 7-11 or GS Mart & heat it up at the hostel. Their hostel provide light breakfast like bread, jam & butter. Free flow of coffee & tea, microwave oven to heat up food & washing machine to wash your laundry.

Aiyoh!! how to answer this kind of question?? With family or alone?? Only you can answer lah!!! How do we know your preference?? As for me, I like to travel alone or with my husband. Less people means less headache.

Unker stimix travel with his whole family. So it is up to youlah. Don't ask us question that we can't answer.

QUOTE(pekkauwer @ Jan 3 2013, 11:49 PM)
Er 1 more question to stimix and listiani i   kinda not rich.... rm2500 enough? Think i wanna go this june be4 fasting but alone better or family wise?

Lost?? In Korea?? How old are you?? 16?? 18?? I am a girl & I am not afraid travelling alone since I was 18. Korea is so much advance than Malaysia. You don't need to hire tour guide or agent to bring you around. You can travel with their buses, train/subway. Ask money from your father if you don't have and go there by yourself. One thing that really pissed me off when people always scared to do new things of venture new adventure.

Anak orang putih umur 18 tahun dah berani pusing melancong 1 dunia. Anak orang kita ni asyik nak kepit ketiak emak bapa.

Gaji RM900 mana cukup nak gi Korea. Korea everything expensive yo!! Wait until you have enough money only then you plan to travel. Aku dulu travel budget & tumpang rumah kawan2 all over Malaysia when I was 18. Itu dlm Malaysia bolehlah buat. Kat luar Malaysia nak tumpang rmh siapa. Bottom line is, wait until you have enough money only then you travel. At 25, I don't think it is a good idea to ask money from your parents to go for holiday.

Aku 25 la, gaji bulanan rm900 so ingat bulan june ni nak pergi, tapi ayah aku sibuk nak pergi bukit tinggi indonesia.  Katanya nak melawat kg moyang aku. So tu aku tgh fikir2 ni xD

When we arrived in Jeju I.A,we went to collect our car & drive to Jeju Stone Park, Jeju Mini Land & rushed to Jungmun area to watch Funtastik show. After that jalan2 in Jungmun area espcially the cliff, went to Chocolate Museum & Cheongjiyeong Waterfall in Seogwipo after chk in.

2nd day went to Seojikoji, Majanggul Caves, Seoryoni Forest Path, Art Trick Museum, Jeju Folk Village & at nite lepak at Jeju town.

Early morning before dawn already arrive in Seongsan Ilchubong Peak to watch sunrise. After that back to hotel, take shower, had breakfast & chk out. Deliver our car to the depot & took shuttle bus provided by the car rental company to Jeju I.A.

We took taxi arranged by Namsan Gueshouse to Gimpo Airport but I don't remember how much. Maybe KRW50,000 or KRW50,000.

Yalor!!! I nearly masuk longkang also coz not used to left hand side driving. Luckily my sister & niece help to navigate & remind me to keep on the left side otherwise masuk longkang. heheheeh!!

But the next day, ok already. Need some time to adjust after that ok alreadylah.

QUOTE(eksk86 @ Jan 7 2013, 02:48 PM)
Yes thats the website. I would advice you to pre-book it to avoid any last minute hassle. Initially I booked a Matiz for around 60k won (for ~48 hrs) without insurance, but when I reached there, they told me there's no more Matiz and they are offering Avante MD (called Elantra in Malaysia) for 59k won with insurance! Guess it's my lucky day.

But just a word of advice, if you had never experience left hand drive, be very careful. Always keep in mind, you are driving on the right side of the road (everything opposite with right hand drive), slow lane on the right, fast lane on the left, becareful with roundabouts with traffic lights there (they can be confusing) and watch out for speed cams (quite a number of them)

For me, I like this kind of show. Jump, Nanta. But for some people this kind of show is nothing. But I like it. Worth every cent I pay. biggrin.gif

BTW, since u arrive late afternoon in Seoul, I advise u to stay 1 nite in Seoul first. Head to Jeju the next day. You can't do really much when you arrive Jeju at nite. Nothing to see. Most places of interest close at 6pm.

You do the calcutlation. Arrive Seoul at 420pm (assuming your flight not delay. Typical AA will delay so don't take the risk of taking a connecting flight on the same day). The earliest flight u can take from Jeju is at 8-9pm. Arrive Jeju around 9-10pm. Can't do or see anything. Whereas if you arrive Seoul at 420pm, you can still go to Namsan Tower, Dongdaemun or the stream. I forgot the name if the stream. Very beautiful at nite.
