QUOTE(hardyboyz888 @ Nov 9 2006, 09:14 AM) Looking at the figures it shows your connection is excellent. What kind of networking problem are you experiencing ? well i found it solve already but one thing i didnt understand...here's the situationmy IC (Internet Connection) is via Modem/Router (Riger Corp - supplied by TM.Net) which is set/configured by TM.Net's staff. Ok...from modem/router connected to SMC 5 Ports switch to share IC with 3 others rig (2 PCs & 1 Laptop). the thing is, everytime i reset or reboot the modem/router, my previous IP (before reboot/reset) will be taken by my other PC while my other PC into mine. i've checked through the Network properties and knew it was autoassigned by DHCP server which i don't understand, i tried to manually configure using (forcing) to use my previous IP but it appears it doesnt work, i can't connect even to my modem/router as well my other PC/Laptop too |

![]() ![]() check the SnR, the one with 8Mb quite ok la, but the one with 2Mb... damn outstanding for those guys XP with frequent disconnecting, you can get the screenshot from mode/router web configuration to get the details and post it here... it's simple enough rather than complaining... frequent dc, frequent dc and frequent dc... |

QUOTE(Zack Styler @ Apr 12 2008, 03:36 PM) But at nightime the SNR margin will be much higher then. it could be due to lesser user or less congested line, but i not really sure... i used to have this problem before. the phone sounded "crackling" and lots of noise... Any idea is it like this? |

QUOTE(Spencer11 @ Apr 17 2008, 01:49 AM) ok, here's my ADSL status for my SNR Margin and Line Attenuation. as u can see i dc'd 5 times in the last 2 hours. my SNR Margin and Line Attenuation is at a satisfactory rate, how come i'm getting disconnections? your Line Attenuation's pretty high... » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « btw, i'm using Aztech DSL 305E modem, it's pretty old - about 5 years already i use this modem(LOL) isit the cause of the disconnection? its still perfectly fine and in good condition just that my connection is very unstable. all help is very much appreciated. Thank you. QUOTE(unstoppable) Line Attenuation Measure of how much the signal has degraded between the DSLAM and the modem. Maximum signal loss recommendation is usually about 60dB. The lower the dB the better for this measurement. > 20dB and below is outstanding > 20dB-30dB is excellent > 30dB-40dB is very good > 40dB-50dB is good > 50dB-60dB is poor and may experience connectivity issues > 60dB or above is bad and will experience connectivity issues it could be your Line Attenuation... but refering to the note @first page... your Line Attenuation isn't that bad... |

make it simple la... please do read the first page what SnR and Line Attenuation all about
long story short... SnR - related to your phone line quality, crackling noise, struck by lightning... for example Line Attenuation - it's your house phone to your DSLAM/Exchange, the nearer the better... the nearer thus lower the dB, take mine for example, i'm just 400m away from DSLAM/Exchange and that's why i got lower Line Attenuation |
