i think this manual would help u to tweak the modem
Preliminary Viking™ Chip Set Family CLI Reference Manual
if not mistaken, there is a command to cap ur modem manually, but i don't sure it works or not
this guide maybe the key to reduce the Rx line rate from your side

refer Topic 3.272 modify dsl config
Page 496-500

maxdnrate <hexvalue>

but before that ,i need ur dsl config parameters.

if u don't know yet, here is the steps:

1) Run command prompt OR start menu>run>cmd

2) telnet

3) open <your modem ip> e.g: open 192.168.1.1

4) enter login and password

5) then, you can run any command from the 'thick text book'. to get the parameters, type

get dsl config

6) then, paste the results here...

Disclaimer: there are some commands that risk ur modem, i will be not responsible for any damages in your peripherals..
