Although the SNR margin seem to be crazy but the download stream rate is only 896kbps ?

aiks, didnt see that, now its back to 1024/512.

i use manual connection same as a USB modem , got a notification icon at start-up menu there one so can see my IP whether the same or not ...

After the DSL light start blinking and activity LED stop blinking (meaning it was dc-ed) , BT at zero ... There's nothing happened like it was still connected and after the DSL light connected to the port and then stable , then connected to internet, it will continue BT and i can surf again with the same IP address ... That's why i wouldn't know if i was DC-ed before , don't know the technician know this or not , maybe they're using this trick to fool customer to buy telekom's modem or whatsover to reduce their customer's mess thrown on them , i will tell them the same problem persist using the modem borrowed by them since im telling the truth ... biggrin.gif

ya lah that is damn headache and mysterious, dunno htf that can happen.

Ei bro , tml the TELEKOM technician come check my underground cable outside my house as i asked him to ... Hope that this will increase my current SNR and decrease the stupid Line Attenuation ... Wish me luck ...  thumbup.gif

ok good luck, lets see if the underground cable is the culprit.

Need some confirmation frm u guys. Can having a parallel phone line makes the SNR margin so go down ? I mean if i got 2 wall socket im using 1 while the other socket isnt connected to anything. Will i get low snr margin? I need some confirmation before i go argue with those tmnuts regarding my super low snr margin that happens EVERYDAY now!!!

I cant even download a 2mb file without having my connection dc vmad.gif

Last time i called they said if i had parallel connection i'll hv unstable connection and they wanted me to REDO the farking Phone line in the house vmad.gif
*
you have one line but 2 wall sockets? how do you split one line into 2 socket?

i can test for you if i have the tool, but i dont.

the easiest for you do some experiments see if it improves the SNR, if no improvement then show the result to tmnut's guys, i know these farker just blame it on anything.

Now, after reading the DIY part of diagnosing the problem, and checking on the phone cable, it seems like there's nothing else I can do to improve the SNR and decrease the Attenuation.

Care for some help/suggestion sifu?  notworthy.gif

you're correct, there's nothing else you can do to improve the SNR and decrease the Attenuation, you have to keep complaining to them, there is no other way. just tell them that you have dc problem, how many time dc in a day etc... and let them fix it, dont mention SNR/Atten stuff as it will only confuse them.

i am shocked by what the tech told you, that you lack DSL filter in the connection and your modem is aging, that's the biggest horseshit i ever heard, my aztech USB turbo 100 is near 4 yr old, used to dc like hell, now ok already, it took them 2 yr to fix it, now snr has increased to 16 and no more dc, can have stable connection for months if no heavy rain. i too suspected that it was the USB modem vs ethernet, the brand aztech or other more stable brand, etc.... finally it all came down to the line quality, they changed the line somewhere and the problem was fixed instantly.
