With 6dB, I get 500 KB/s. But it happen to me rarely but 10-12dB happen to me everyday and still can get 500 KB/s. 6dB 10% of the time, 12dB 60% of the time and the rest is 32dB+. I use 4 Mbps Streamyx and always get 500 kbps, line also drop frequently (when it get to 1-2 and below).Addition: You better call up streamyx.
I've just rewired my house and I got 34dB all the time
