Aichiban what is your connection problem?
Slow or DC ?

try to ping 192.168.1.1 and www.tm.net.my

Guide :
Vista
start > type cmd > type "ping 192.168.1.1"

XP :
Start > run > cmd > type "ping 192.168.1.1"
*

Page 496-500

maxdnrate <hexvalue>

but before that ,i need ur dsl config parameters.

if u don't know yet, here is the steps:

1) Run command prompt OR start menu>run>cmd

2) telnet

3) open <your modem ip> e.g: open 192.168.1.1

4) enter login and password

5) then, you can run any command from the 'thick text book'. to get the parameters, type

get dsl config

6) then, paste the results here...

Disclaimer: there are some commands that risk ur modem, i will be not responsible for any damages in your peripherals..

Amazing that this disconnection issue has been going on since 2005 ...

All Mont Kiara customers are facing this same problem of a cyclical disconnect every 8-10 minutes. This completely interrupts any use of your broadband connection for basic purposes such as streaming, VPN, bittorent (which is not a bad word, as many software companies already rely on BT for legal software distribution), IM, Video Chat etc.

Problem has been identified to likely be due to some incompatible backend machines.

Was told they are speaking to their equipment vendor in the coming week (...hmmm ...) to raise this problem.

Irresponsible, as I am sure this is not a new incident.

<5db upload
* stream rate= >4mb download
>512kb upload
-------
line B
-------
* snr margin = >30db download
>28db upload
* stream rate = = 1mb download

Hi, I need some help.

My SNR is pretty bad
Line 1
Down Stream
SNR Margin - 6db
Line Attenuation - 63.5db

UpStream
SNR - 13db
LA - 31db

Line2
Down Stream
SNR Margin - 5db
Line Attenuation - 63.0db
Attainable Line Rate - 736kbps

UpStream
SNR - 19db
LA - 31.5db
A Line Rate - 992kbps

Line3
Down Stream
SNR Margin - 17.7db
Line Attenuation - 54.0db

UpStream
SNR - 15db
LA - 31.3db

Pretty shitty results eh?
Just wondering on our end, what is the 'perfect' environment that I can give our streamyx line?

Longer phone extension from the socket to our modem is bad, but how bad would it be? 2-3 feet longer would make any difference?
The type of phone line used, will it make any difference?
If the phone lines are nearby other electric cables, (interference?) would it have a negative impact?

Basically, I would like to ensure that on our end, I've done every single thing that I can to ensure our streamyx would be in the best possible condition.

We have a lot of slowmyx threads, why not a 'What you can do to ensure the best possible environment for your Streamyx' topic?

Anyway, come to think about it, I have another line which has pretty bad SNR/LA too which is like 1km from the location with the above 3 lines....

1) Using a standard phone line from the socket to the modem (shortest possible phone line)
2) I guess not much..
3) There's no electric cables there..
4) The phone cables there on the telephone poles are relatively new, the housing area are 10 years ago?.

And things are only marginally better.. maybe that location is nearer to their exchange.
And so... I think i just answered my own question, nothing much can be done personally on our end to improve SNR or Line Attenuation sad.gif

currently im using modem+wireless router to connect streamyx, but nowadays im always facing a problem: i cant connect to streamyx on the next time i wan 2 connect again after few hours(mayb no body use or raining, so i switch off all), when i call to streamyx, they said is my 'streamyx system' hang, they will reset for me and it's really work.

but my question is: is it i have to call them every time or every week or everyday to reset the system? is it any solutions? im facing this problem more than 1 month, but they always asked me to try, if these problem appear again, i should call them again, it's waste my time to make the calls always.

they asked me to switch off my modem before shut down the computer, but the problem is still appear.

what should i do?

hope to get a solution here, thanks!
