Hey,SNR margin will not be significantly changed.You just set your modem modulation on AUTO and check for SNR margin.If still like that,you should call to customer service to report your line(connection) faulty.

WHAT IN THE WORLD IS WRONG WITH STREAMYX!!!!!!!!
Just now i called streamyx to ask them to fix my frequent disconnection problem.
My Us Rate (Kbps) was 512 and my Ds Rate (Kbps) was 1500
My US margin was 21dB and My Ds Margin was 24

NOW AFTER CALLING THE STREAMYX CUSTOMER SERVICE ALL BECOME WORST THAN EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I met the same kind of things before...but after 1-2 days,it comes to be normal...so they may do the repair currently...

yup. Now the status is back to normal.

Well,it may still be under testing at TM side.Thus,the line could be unstable for a while.If the bad situation comes back and keeps for more than 3-4 days,you need to call them again.
Hopefully your problem can be solved in one short.

just wanna ask... is there any direct correlation btw SNR and line attenuation?

i saw some ppl having very good (low value) at line attenuation but very bad SNR (low value).

in other cases, both also very bad i.e. line attenuation high , SNR low.

so which one is more important , i think SNR. pls comment.

my snr margin and atthetuation are normal,but i still can a crappy download speed of 1.3kb/sec...for a 3mb file....is it my line problem?

If you download every file like this,it could be your line's problem.Otherwise,you need to check whether your computer has virus.

Higher line attenuation=>lower SNR
Lower line attenuation=>Higher SNR

If what you said is occurring,there should be some line error.

just to clarify,
"Lower line attenuation=>Higher SNR " This is not always the case. if you read back some pages before this, u will notice some of them have low line attenuation and LOW SNR.

if there is an error, what could it be? pls share...thank you in advance.

Hi guys, are my stats ok? i'm getting a very weak streamyx signal even though i'm on 3mbps fixed ip package

Remote Line Atten.: 15.0 dB
Local SNR Margin: 28.0 dB
Remote SNR Margin: 4.0 dB

A faulty port or jumper may incur when both figures are low.

i'm using a belkin router modem... how do i find out wads my SNR margin...?

u need to access to your modem. you can find the info in the user manual
