Please advise.

Friday
-check in (d.hostel, mongkok)
-lunch
  tim ho wan?  Suggestion pls.
if you want tim ho wan, i suggest going to the central branch, the line is shorter, the place is larger, just exit at central/Hong Kong station, to IFC tower 2, it's somewhere around there
-ting ting travel agency
- ladies street/fa yuen street
  {might slot in other day
-harbor city
{recommend taking bus?  what type of bus able to get us there, wanted look around hk
where are you going there from? if from MK, try searching for Bus 1A, it goes to the Star Ferry Harbour, it's just beside harbour city anyway, i think you still can see the 100 Doraemon exhibition there, but be wary of hordes of PRC ppl there..xD
-dinner (suggestion?)
-clock tower
-sogo, tst
-avenue star (reach before 8)
-Kai Kee Street Snacks
-desert (hui lau shan/honeymoon desert- which outlet near to mongkok)? Any recommend?
Hui Lau Shan is practically everywhere, you don't have to worry, Honeymoon Desert, go to Langham Place, expect a line, coz that's how it is in MK
-bck to hostel

Saturday
-break fast - tim ho wan/price edward/ mong kee porridge
-ngoping 360 (take mrt to ngoping station)
  city gate
Honestly speaking, Ngo Ping 360 has nothing much to really see, my father came visiting me in HK 2 weeks ago, and it's also my 1st time there, we didn't find it exceptionally attractive though, but none the less, the surrounding is pristine and calm
-lunch
Having in city gate? (recommend) or mak man kee/ australia milk company
-back to hostel (any recommend place instead bck to mongkok)
-dinner (plan to eat mcd at the peak.. or suggestion pls)
hmm, the peak has Tsui Wah, it's a slightly expensive char chan teng, but good food none the less
-the peak  &madame tussands
  { transportation will be using Tram & Bus}
Going up by using tram will it need to wait for long queue?
Going down by using bus, long queue? Suggestion please?
If you want to take the tram, do expect a very long line, but it's a great experience none the less
-lam kwai fong
if you are planning to go to LKF, contact me accordingly so that i will bring you guys to the better bar around here, 1st round's on me wink.gif
-snack (maybe)
-back to hostel

Sunday
-breakfast (suggestion?)
-Macau
Will going early morning, bck at night
-which ferry courier more convenient, near to mongkok and operate late night?
[cool.gif your best option is taking the ferry from Harbour city, and remember to buy return tickets, as there will be a lot of people going in and out of Macau, especially over the weekend

Monday
-lin heung tea (any suggestion)
-expo permon
  time square
-afternoon (no plan, suggestion pls)
-lunch & tea time (suggestion pls)
-night (no plan, suggestion pls)

Tuesday
-breakfast (no ideal place)
-11am flight

*any must visit place had I miss? Beside ocean park & Disney land. Feel like I visit too much shopping outlet. Please suggest place.
*want to take bus tram. Would like to ask from my above Itinerary, am able to ride it by using bus tram.
* H&M located at which shopping outlet. you stay in MK, there is H&M in Langham place anyway, so no worries there

apologize, if there is mistake in spelling & sentence. typing in hurry ^^.
*
see my replies in bold characters.

1)which ferry courier serve in harbour city?
is it cheaper to buy ferry ticket at ding ding agency?
2)what is the cheapest prepaid card in HK?

Rowan23
1) biggrin.gif , ur definition of better bar pls? smile.gif . any recommend of bar in LKF to hangout, able to wash eye abit and reasonable price. hmm.gif
2) would like to know what is the current weather now in HK.
*
1) it depends on where you want to touch down first, whether Taipa (it's located near City of Dreams and Venetian hotel) or Macau city. I'm not sure about the ticket price though, since i usually take the CotaiJet there, but there's also a few agencies which are ok, but beware of ticket touts none the less.

2) cheapest prepaid card? hmm, there's a few i think, either go with Smarttone or China Mobile

3) better bar? haha it depends on what you are looking for actually, i usually go to the bar below my office (Tonic or Rayne), you could also hit up Azure above LKF hotel (take note of the long line, and the bar/club opens to the public roughly around 11-12 at night)

4) current weather in HK now? well it's sunny with some rain, it's a bit unpredictable, but it's already past typhoon season (you'll hardly encounter any now i think). great weather for the beach as well...you can probably hit Shek O beach or Stanley, personally i would suggest Stanley, as it's a tourist area, but they still have great restaurants along the promenade.

1)Then i will purchase at china ferry terminal counter.
2)Noted
3)i'm looking bar, able to wash eye a bit (hopefully not ang moh rclxub.gif ) & able to chit-chat with the local whistling.gif . will it be very pack on saturday? will head to LKF after went to The Peak.
4) beach, will take consideration on it. see if there is place to slot in.
*
1) do remember to buy return tickets as well, coz sometimes the trip back might be full
3) hmm, LKF is actually mostly ang mohs, the locals head over to the clubs like Beijing, Play, Magnum, cover charge is around HKD 350 per head, saturday is packed, they even close off the street for pedestrians anyway. actually LKF is nothing special (maybe because i work around here and pass by the place all the time, HK chicks are hawt though! biggrin.gif). you want a more local scene, try going to TsT, Knustford Terrace, it gives me the feeling like i'm in Bangsar at times....

QUOTE(mugenz @ Sep 6 2012, 12:47 PM)
why cotai but not turbojet?
*
i find cotaijet slightly more comfortable, and sometimes they upgrade my seat to first class, then i get free food and drinks up there, although food is technically cup noodles....

Rowan , what and where do you work ???

Work as wat ??so good ...go until HKG to work ...
*
i'm currently based in HK, working in an interior design firm here....

QUOTE(MaggieQ @ Sep 6 2012, 03:49 PM)
i don't smoke either, so it wont be a problem to me. any advice of Do & don't while at the pub/ club in HK.
*
haha, well, 1st of all, if you're a girl and want to know people, all i can say is, dress to kill....women here, especially in Central dress very nice, with hot body...if you're a guy, all i can say, bring the cash and the charm...you'll be able to meet great people all around the world from LKF, but do expect them to be slightly tipsy or drunk....

just go out there and have fun, that's all i can say....but becareful of people spiking your drink...it's been going on here in LKF, and there are police patrolling the area to make sure you don't get into trouble. And try not to get persuaded into trying some indian food behind LKF alley, the food there is mediocre and range between HKD 200-300 per dish (cut-throat price)

haha, well, i think a lot of PRC here also don't care...there's actually a massive protest right now in Admiralty regarding the "brain-washing teaching" by the China's government....

basically, the PRC people coming into HK is giving everyone a hard time...pretty much if you stay in MK, you would understand what i mean...

We took 9.30 am ferry we bought the tickets on the spot. We watched the international fireworks at Macau. It was superb! Like hong kong for their food and the people quite ok la just that some famous eateries they got a bit rude. Very safe as many policeman around. Definitely will go again for their food! As for shopping I bought biscuits more than clothes as I found that clothes in citygate is too expensive for me. Just bought 2 tshirts from esprit. Not much shopping at malls as we were short of time to go malls since we went for tourist spots. Will post my iternary soon! biggrin.gif
*
haha, it's definitely safe here alright, there isn't much murder/robbery case on the newspaper anyway...these days it's mostly about their LEGCO elections...

QUOTE(mugenz @ Sep 10 2012, 08:23 PM)
Going Hk tomorrow.. Woohoo

Rude ? Damn I can't read Chinese sure kena frm the waiter for wasting their time.
*
well, ask for the english menu, it is always available in most of the restaurants on the island side...on kowloon side, maybe a bit harder, but shouldn't be much of an issue for you anyway....

Yeah there were some sort of rally in many of them wear black shirts something like our country bersih lol.
*
well, they are resisting about the education system, where China is trying to force a national subject on patriotism or something like that, which in short, makes HK people think that they China government is trying to brain wash them.

well, from your itinerary, it seems like you've covered pretty much all of HK...haha

QUOTE(ar_zaem @ Sep 10 2012, 10:11 PM)
anyway. i just went to PEAK TRAM today around 6pm... quite satisfied for $64 per trip... you can watch a whole hong kong... but you need to queue up...but not long enough...
*
it's a monday, heh, that's why there's not a huge line...

We walked through the mid level escalator till the end and then we realized no escalator to go down lol..but it's not tiring to walk down the steep though..can see a lot of stuff
*
It leads all the way to mid-levels....but i think most tourist stop around SoHo anyway.....

QUOTE(ar_zaem @ Sep 12 2012, 10:55 PM)
maybe we just met just now.. haha.. nway, is there any other place to go other than ladies market? tomorrow i'll go to temple street. if im not mistaken there is men's market somewhere there.

Added on September 12, 2012, 10:57 pm

i thought disneyland is $399...  tongue.gif
*
where have you covered so far? TsT to MK right? have you tried Tung Chung yet? for night view, i highly suggest going to West Kowloon Promenade, although it's quite empty there, but the video over looking the HK island side is a lot better than cramming up around TsT....

if you can't seem to get a taxi while getting out from the promenade, you could walk to "Elements", it's about a 5-10 minute walk away anyway....

i did go to avenue park.. there's a long way to walk through the park nway. but you can see clearly the buildings and the cruise ships. biggrin.gif
was great than wasting my money on peak tram though..  hmm.gif

Added on September 13, 2012, 3:33 am

im just a backpacker and i did not bring enough money to go to disneyland. too expensive to me.  tongue.gif
but if you go on october, the price will be $259. so pity that im not long enough to be in HK.  sad.gif
nway, compare to ladies market and temple street ,which one is a good option for you? if temple market is not a good option, i would rather go to bed and watch movie in my hotel.  laugh.gif
*
HAHA, nah, i just walk around HK when i'm free anyway....i work near SoHo, like probably 2 minutes walk away or so....my gym is nearby there, it's called Pure Fitness...

if you are interested in the beaches, you can try going to Shek O beach or Big Wave Beach in the Kowloon area, or head over to Sai Kung for a relaxing walk around the promenade, and have some seafood restaurants around there.

Stanley is mostly tourist area, with a lot of them coming from the west, so do expect prices to be somewhat higher than other parts of HK.

Ystd Went Yung Kee for roasted goose. Half goose + taufu + vege + sweet and sour pork. Total dmg hkd880 hahahaha... I think the century egg should be the star dish here lol...

Went LAN kwai fong after that.. A lot of chicks.. It will be good business to open a 7-11 hereby. Coz the ppl like to drink there b4 going into clubs. Hahah weirdos
*
why'd you go Yung Kee? their service attitude is horrible, and overpriced for their roasted goose though....even though around Central there isn't much to compare, but i heard from my colleagues, you should go to Honolulu for their roasted goose which is not bad (but i advise you not to go there during lunch time, as the servers also has the same bad attitude)

there's actually 4 7-11 near this area, you will definitely see people buy alcohol before hitting a pub/club, as a drink in a club = HKD 110 or more, while getting alcohol in 7-11 is about HKD 20~30....so you do the math whistling.gif

nah, a meal here costs between HKD 40~60, if you go to some other restaurants, then maybe HKD 100~150. Allocate around HKD 250 to 350 per day for food, it should be more than enough.

Hiah home sweet home... Went last minute shopping at citygate b4 flying back... Total damage 1.5k Hkd lol....

Food is freaking expensive in Hk.. If u planning to allocate Hkd50 per pax for normal food definitely not enough..

I went Yung Kee coz it's in central. Meet up some frens and suppose go drinking in lkf. I think it's ladies nite and it's jam packed with ppl so went TST instead. The service super good la... Waiter to help press lift then direct to the table.

Come talk to you and reserve goose for us coz worried later finish coz we still waiting for my frens..
*
haha, definitely not the same service i had when i was there.....well, if you go drinking in LKF on fridays and saturdays, it's generally packed...try coming here during Halloween or Christmas, it'll be packed till you can't move!

but to be honest though, i somehow feel that even though the food in HK is expensive, but you are getting for what it's worth....their wonton is huge, and the shrimps in there are at least like a whole piece in there, unlike back in KL xD, and the last time i went back to KL, things aren't really as cheap as it seems right now....

Will go HK for second time for sure for its food, convenience and its transportation system! We lack of time to try food cos we were busy visiting those tourist places. If given a chance, I will go there alone exploring since it's quite safe but the only disadvantage is that i'm a banana...cant read chinese huhuhu

But i rather choose cooler season around mar-apr, september is too hot and humid for me...kills my mood to take more photos..lol
*
QUOTE(mugenz @ Sep 18 2012, 12:47 AM)
The weather for me was ok..

Day 1 and 2 is not hot and not cold. Cloudy.

Day 3 and 4 is super hot but bearable.

I cant read chinese as well. But no problem, all i need is unlimited data with gps.. can easily find all food with it.

Just need to be thick skin and keep cool.. ask waiter to explain sure will get scolded if there is no english menu biggrin.gif
*
The weather now is actually quite cooling, the autumn breeze is blowing, so it's not as hot as you think....come during October, there's the halloween events around Disneyland, Ocean Park, and on Halloween Day, LKF will be packed with people in costumes....and surprisingly, no news of robbery and all, coz there will be police officers patrolling the area anyway....
